Uppi’s not keen on villain roles

These days everyone may be talking about Kiccha Sudeep's villainous outing in the Telugu-flick Eega (Naan Ee in Tamil). But back in 2008, namma Real Star Upendra had tried his hand at a negative role.

"I had played the villain in Sathyam, which had Vishal and Nayanthara in the lead. I played an assassin in the film and it was a very interesting role. But just because I have played a villain once before, I don't think I will do it again. Sathyam was a one-off thing because the character was good," says Upendra.

Unfortunately, despite Uppi's faith in his character in the film, Sathyam did not fare well at the box office. Meanwhile, the actor, whose latest release Godfather is a remake of the Tamil hit Varalaru, is currently working on another remake - Kalpana (Kanchana) and has just completed work on Topiwala, in which he sports a six-pack. "Right now, I am concentrating on my directorial with my wife Priyanka, as well as Om Prakash Rao's 30th film Trivikrama.

'Godfather' stars at Radio City blue carpet

Bengaluru’s favorite radio station, Radio City 91.1 FM played host to ace actor Upendra and rest of the cast of ‘Godfather’ for the exclusive Blue Carpet Screening of ‘Godfather’. Hundreds of fans went crazy as ace actor Upendra wooed the audience with his presence along with leading lady Saundarya, at ‘Godfather’ Blue Carpet screening, this Saturday.

Upendra’s sudden appearance triggered crowd hysteria. Given the hype surrounding the movie, this was really a treasured opportunity for listeners to interact with ‘Godfather’ sensation Upendra and the rest of the cast. The interaction was fun and exciting beyond bounds, considering Upendra’s huge fan-following in the city. The listeners were overjoyed with this rare chance to be close to their favorite star. Review: God Father

God Father, directed by debutant Sethu Sriram, is the remake of Ajit starrer Tamil movie Varalaaru.

God Father has got many highpoints - internationally acclaimed music maestro A.R. Rahman has composed music for a Kannada film for the first time. Also, southern superstar Upendra has played three different roles in the film.

However, more than the script, it was the lead actor's performance that grabbed the viewers' attention. Upendra takes the film to a dizzying height in triple roles. He plays a rich industrialist Shiva and his two sons Vijay and Ajay with aplomb.

Some of the drawbacks of God Father include not so convincing cast and a dull start. Debutant Soundarya needs to learn nuances of acting, though she looks charming in song sequences.

Catherine is a bad selection, while veteran artists Ramesh Bhat and Sathyajith have done well in their roles.

Compared to first half, the second half is engaging thanks to twists and turns in the story line. Sriram's cinematography is better than his directorial skills.

The editor has done a good job through his sharp editing skills and it keeps the film engaging.

In all God Father is a clear winner and will surely be a treat for Upendra's fans.

Godfather review - Handsome Movie

A section of audience felt that Upendra's recent superhit movie Katariveera Surasundarangi was weak in the story part and it was also criticised by some critics for the same reason. But his latest movie Godfather is an exact opposite to it, as it has a brilliant story with no room for glamour and other masala elements.

Godfather is a remake of Tamil superhit film Varalaru starring Ajith Kumar in triple roles. The Telugu remake was planned a few years ago and it was offered to Upendra, who turned down the offer assuming that it was difficult to bring back the life to the characters played by Ajith in the Tamil version.

But K Manju, who had acquired the Kannada remake rights, convinced Uppi that he could do the roles. As a result, Godfather is before you and Upendra has almost succeeded to impress the audience.

The first half of Godfather is good and runs in a good pace. Shiv Sagar with his son Vijay (Both performed by Upendra) leading a happy life. Born with a silver spoon, Vijay loves to party all the time and has less time to take up the responsibility of his father's business. But the wheelchair-bound father makes him to change his mind and sends his son to Bhamapur to look after some project. Here, he meets Divya (Soundarya).

In the blink of an eye, they fall for each other and decides to tie the knot. However, there is a twist in the story and Upendra will be shown in the negative shade. Hence, the marriage broke up. The follow up scenes remind us of Uppi's recent movie Aarakshaka. Nonetheless, the two stories are entirely different and soon audience will realise it. The second half is fully engaging and there is a flashback that introduces to Shiv Sagar's past. The rest of the tale should be seen on-screen.

It has been quite a long time since the Kannada audience witnessed a good story-based movie and Godfather belongs to that category. There is not a single boring moment in the film, though the viewers get clues about the proceedings at parts. The movie has a wonderful screenplay by KS Ravikumar, the director and writer of Varalaaru.

Upendra leaves good impressions with his three different characters. Especially, the role of Bharatanatyam dancer with feminine qualities is excellent. The way he walks, talks and reacts are praiseworthy. The other two characters are okay and the negative role reminds us of his psychopath role in Aarakshaka. However, his body language does not compliment to his young-man avatar. Soundarya, the daughter of yesteryear actress Jayamala, has done decent job in her limited role and she looks promising. Catherine is okay and Bhumika Chawla will be seen in a special song.

AR Rahman's three songs 'Sarigama Sangama...', 'Nannede shruthiyalli...' and 'Neene ee kanna...' are impressive and PC Sriram's cinematography is good. The drawback of the movie is that the climax seems to be shot in a hurry and it is disappointing to see the blunder in the story after having a good time watching the movie.

Verdict: Godfather is a well-made family entertainer that has good story, which is rare in the recent times. Upendra's character of the Bharatanatyam dancer will remain as the biggest highlight of the movie.

Rating: 3 ½ out of 5.

Upendra to feature in three different roles

In recent times, Real Star Upendra's film Godfather has been in the news more often for all the wrong reasons. For starters, the movie has been ready for release for sometime, but was delayed. And then, of course, was the very public spat between Godfather producer K Manju and Katari Veera Surasundarangi (KVSS) maker Munirathna, over which film — both being Uppi starrers — should release first.

KVSS did make it to theatres first and all had been quiet on the Godfather front. But the Varalaru remake, which features Uppi in three very different roles, is now ready for release.

The film, which hits theatres today, says Upendra, is a complete family entertainer. "I have done multiple characters earlier in a film called Hollywood, but they were not as diverse as my roles in Godfather. This is the first film since Rakthakaneeru that has given me such varied roles, and that makes it a commercial entertainer fit for all members of the family," says Uppi.

While Uppi gets to take on three roles, there are several lovely ladies sharing screen space with him — Soundarya Jayamala, who marks her debut with his film, Catherine Tresa, and Bhumika Chawla, who makes a special appearance. "The highlights of the film, though, are the script, the performances and, of course, the music by AR Rahman," says Uppi, adding that audiences ought to treat Godfather as an original film.

"Not many have seen the Tamil version and the film was not made in Telugu, so Godfather does have a novelty factor for audiences," he maintains.

Bonanza for audiences

N Prasad of Narasimha Arts, who has procured the audio rights of Godfather has something special on offer for everyone who watches the film over the first weekend. "Everyone who buys a ticket and watches Godfather over Friday, Saturday and Sunday will get an audio CD of the film free," says Prasad.

I did Refuse The God Father Offer - Upendra

Real Star Upendra is now acting for the first time in three different roles in the film God Father which is directed by Sriram. The film is a remake of Tamil Hit Varalaaru which had featured Tamil Star Ajith in the main role. God Father has offered Uppi lot of opportunities for performing in different shades and he is extremely happy about it.
Talking about the roles he had performed, Upendra said that the offer to act in the remake of Varalaaru came to him from a well known Telugu film producer who really wanted to do a Telugu remake of the film.
"I had not seen the original film and wanted to see it. A DVD was sent to me and when I watched the film I was really flabbergasted. Here was a film which had a high peak of emotional overtones and sentiment coupled with some comedy and action. It had given the three protogonists of the film to deliver their best performances which were different frome ach other. For the first time, I thought whether
I would be able to play such three diversified characters in a film. All the characters were interlinked and the film was sure to deliver a high degree of emotional impact on the viewers. Later I thought it was better to take some time to decide. The Telugu film producer who really wanted to make a film with me left disappointed. Later after many years, director Sriram came to me with this offer, but again I expressed some doubts. But Sriram seemed to be confident that the film could be made more attractive by strengthening its technical content. He was also sure that with my high voltage performance I can create a magic through this film which would be liked by wide spectrum of film audience. K.Manju who wanted to make a film with me also showed lot of interest in this project and this is how the project materialised' says Upendra.
Upendra who has already seen the film along with his family members and a few friends complimented K.Manju and director Sriram for not compromising anything during the making of the film. "K.Manju gave us all the required help while we were shooting. A special set was erected at Abbaiah Naidu studios for this film. I think Sriram will show the visuals much better in this film than its Tamil original' said Uppi.

ಸೂಪರ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ನಟನೆಯ 'ಗಾಡ್‌‌ಫಾದರ್' ಚಿತ್ರ ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಹಬ್ಬದಂದು (ಜುಲೈ 27, 2012) ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೆ ಮಂಜು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ 120 ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಜಿತ್ ನಟನೆಯ ತಮಿಳಿನ 'ವರಲಾರು' ರೀಮೇಕ್ ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಕೆ ಮಂಜುಗೆ ಇನ್ನಿಲ್ಲದ ಭರವಸೆ.

ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಮೂರು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಪ್ಪ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ತ್ರಿಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿರುವ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮೂಲ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿರುವ ಅಜಿತ್ ನಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನುಕರಿಸಿಲ್ಲವಂತೆ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, "ಅಜಿತ್ ನಟನೆಗೆ ಸರಿಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ ಅಷ್ಟು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ.

ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಹೊಸದೇನಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಮೊದಲು 'ಆರಕ್ಷಕ' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ದ್ವಿಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ತ್ರಿಪಾತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಮೂರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಅತಿಂಥವಲ್ಲ. ಪರಮ ಕ್ರೂರಿಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳವು. ಅಂತಹ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಟಿಸಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಕೆ ಮಂಜು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ರೀಮೇಕ್ ಹಕ್ಕು ಖರೀದಿಸಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ನಟರ ಬಳಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವ ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವಂತೆ. ಪಕ್ಕಾ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿರುವ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೂರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವುದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಕೆಲಸವೇನಲ್ಲ. ಅದೂ ರೀಮೇಕ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ಮೂಲ ಚಿತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ.ಆದರೆ ಇದನ್ನೇ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ ಆಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಜಯಮಾಲಾ ಪುತ್ರಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸದಾ, ಭೂಮಿಕಾ ಚಾವ್ಲಾ, ಕ್ಯಾಥರಿನ್ ಥ್ರೆಸಾ ಕೂಡ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ತಮಿಳಿನ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಾಹಕ ಪಿ ಸಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ್. ಇನ್ನೇನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದೆ, ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕು.

ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ 'ಆರಕ್ಷಕ' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಿಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ತ್ರಿಪಾತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಮೂರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಅತಿಂಥವಲ್ಲ. ಪರಮ ಕ್ರೂರಿಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳವು. ಅಂತಹ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಟಿಸಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವ ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಮಾಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಪಕ್ಕಾ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಚಿತ್ರ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಜಯಮಾಲಾ ಪುತ್ರಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸದಾ, ಭೂಮಿಕಾ ಚಾವ್ಲಾ, ಕ್ಯಾಥರಿನ್ ಥ್ರೆಸಾ ಕೂಡ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ತಮಿಳಿನ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಾಹಕ ಪಿ ಸಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ್. ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಗಂಡಗಲಿ ಕೆ ಮಂಜು.

ತಮಿಳಿನ 'ವರಲಾರು' ಚಿತ್ರ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಮೂರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಜಿತ್ ನಟನೆ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಹೆಣ್ಣಿನಂತೆ, ಹೆಣ್ಣಿಗನಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಭಾರೀ ಸಂಚಲನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಅಜಿತ್. ಅದೇ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ನಾಯಕರು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಒಪ್ಪಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವೆಂದರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿದ್ದು ಕೇವಲ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಕೆ. ಮಂಜು ಅವರ ಸ್ನೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಎಂಬುದು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸಂಗತಿ. ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಬಾಯ್ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ತೆಲುಗು ರಿಮೇಕ್‌ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಟಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಆಫರ್ ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು.

ಅದನ್ನು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಯವಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಕೂಡ. ಆದರೆ ಮಂಜು ಅವರ ಆಫರ್ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲು ಉಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. "ಅಜಿತ್ ಸರಿಸಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸದೇ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿನ ನಟನ ಮೂರು ಪಾತ್ರ ನೋಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಲಭ್ಯ.

ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ, ಈ 'ಗಾಡ್‌ಫಾದರ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ಮೇ ತಿಂಗಳ ಮೊದಲ ವಾರದಲ್ಲೇ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡ ಬಂದದ್ದು ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ 'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ'. ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಮೊದಲು ಭಾರೀ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಂಜು ಹಾಗೂ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ, ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಬೀದಿಜಗಳದಂತೆ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಕಚ್ಚಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಈಗ ಇತಿಹಾಸ.

It was mother day for daughter debut!

Dr Jayamala mother of debutant actress Soundarya in ‘God Father’ made a delectable arrangement to felicitate producer K Manju, director cum cameraman S Sriram, super star Upendra and distributor Prasad – all responsible for the silver screen launch of Soundaraya on this Friday in over 120 theatres of Karnataka.

Dr Jayamala daughter Soundaraya welcomed the media with a bouquet and it was a rare invitation for Kannada film media. Secondly the flash back of mother Dr Jayamala and clips of daughter Soundaraya from ‘God Father’ film song plus felicitation was an extremely good thought. Dr Jayamala husband HM Ramachandra was also present at this memorable moment of the family.

The flash back of Dr Jayamala very carefully prepared had the voice over of Yogaraj Bhat the eminent director who was supposed to launch Soundarya Jayamala from ‘Lagori’.

A huge rose garland, shawl, fruit basket was given to producer K Manju, director Sriram, Upendra and Prasad on this occasion. The co artist Shwetha was garlanded at this event. Very fine anchor of Karnataka Aparna conducted the simple and effective event.

SS Rajamouli was impressed by Upendra's Om

SS Rajamouli has become a popular name in Karnataka with the massive success of his recently released Eega starring our own Sudeep. After his Kannada connection was revealed by himself that he was born in Raichur, the proud Sandalwood cine goers wanted to know more on his knowledge of Kannada movies and now, we have managed to get a piece of information on it.

The ace film director has said that he spent his early childhood in Amareswara camp Raichur. In those days, there was no theatres in the place, so he could not watch any movie at that time. He watched the first Kannada movie in theatre at the age of 30, which was Upendra's gangster classic Om, which managed to re-release every year even 17 years after its release in 1995.

According to Rajamouli, the gripping story of Om and the wonderful performance of Shivaraj Kumar had impressed him a lot. Since then he has seen quite a lot Kannada movies including Sudeep's recent Kannada hit movie Vishnuvardhana.

ತೆಲುಗು ಖ್ಯಾತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಕೆ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರಾವ್ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಟಿವಿ ಧಾರಾವಾಹಿಗಳ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಮೂಲಕ ರಾಜಮೌಳಿಯವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದವರು. ನಂತರ 2001 ರಲ್ಲಿ 'ಸ್ಟೂಡೆಂಟ್ ನಂ 1' ತೆಲುಗು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು. ನಂತರ 9 ಸೂಪರ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಸೆಂಟ್ ಪರ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಸಕ್ಸಸ್ ಕೊಡುವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು.

Varalaru remake GODFATHER releases 27th JULY

Many Tamil films have proved to be the 'inspiration' for films in other industries. One such is Ajith's Varalaru, which was originally titled Godfather, and the Kannada remake of the same releases on July 27.

The film has Kannada actor Upendra, who has been part of films in Tamil like Sathyam, playing the lead. The film is being directed by Sethu Sriram, who is an associate of P C Sriram and was part of the team that filmed the original.

In addition to this, the other highlight of the film is that the Mozart of Madras, A R Rahman has composed the songs and done the background score. While he has retained a few numbers from the original soundtrack in Tamil, he has additionally composed two numbers, which has been one of the biggest highlights in the Kannada film as those are Rahman's first original compositions for Sandalwood. The makers also have plans of showing the film to the team behind the original, which includes K S Ravikumar and Ajith.

The heroines in this film are Soundarya and Catherine, who will play the roles essayed by Asin and Kanika in the original respectively. Bhumika Chawla has made a special appearance in the film.

The super star Upendra on the eve of release of his second triple role film ‘God Father’ – in a Sci-Fi film ‘Hollywood’ made in 2002, Upendra was in triple role in Dinesh Baboo director. He was robot in one of the roles for lavishly made film by producer Ramu – it was quite an impressive film. After 10 years Upendra is triple role again in ‘God Father’ – a remake of ‘Varalaru’ – 2006 Tamil film of KS Ravikumar.

‘Varalaru’ Tamil film with Ajith doing triple role was stored in the camera by PC Sriram. This S Sriram is known as cameraman in Hindi films is turning independent director of a Kannada cinema.

According to Upendra the film ‘God Father’ was possible only because of S Sriram. It is his initiative and impetus made me to take up this role. It is not easy to perform. I thought of this film five years ago and kept quiet. When the offer came from Sriram I was surprised. Inquired on the possibilities and how he thinks that he can perform in triple roles. This remake was tried by many and left out. We have shot for the film more than 1.5 lakh feet of raw stock. Always three cameras were ready on the sets with various gadgets. It is an expensive made.

K Manju has taken lot of daring decision said Upendra. He invited Prasad to Kannada industry as this is his first film Prasad is distributing. He wished K Manju to make more money. Prasad corrected Upendra by saying he is already safe on the business before release.

ಜುಲೈ 27ಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಹ್ಯಾಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಹೀರೋ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಅದ್ದೂರಿ 'ಶಿವ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಕಾರಣಾಂತರಗಳಿಂದ ಮುಂದೂಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಿದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್'.

"ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಯೋಗದ ಮೂಲಕ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಿನ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ವಿತರಕ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಅವರದು. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ಷನ್, ಸೆಂಟಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನ ಬರಲಿ ಎಂದ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಎ ಆರ್ ರೆಹಮಾನ್ ಅವರ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಂಯೋಜನೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಸುಮಾರಾಗಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂಚೂರು ಕುತೂಹಲವನ್ನೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ 'ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ' ಹಾಗೂ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಜಟಾಪಟಿ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು.

ಮೊದಲು ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಾನು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಮೊದಲು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಎಂಬುದು ಕೆ ಮಂಜು ವಾದಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವಾದನ್ನು 'ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಸುತಾರಾಂ ಒಪ್ಪದೆ ವಿವಾದ ತಾರಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಬಳಿಕ ತಣ್ಣಗಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವಿಶೇಷ ಎಂದರೆ ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರೇ ನಾಯಕ ಎಂಬುದು.ಇನ್ನು 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಚಿತ್ರದ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ತಮಿಳಿನ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ವರಲಾರು' ರೀಮೇಕ್ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ. ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ತ್ರಿಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ್ದು ಜಯಮಾಲಾ ಪುತ್ರಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ನಾಯಕಿ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ, ಭೂಮಿಕಾ ಚಾವ್ಲಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ಯಾಥೆರಿನ್ ತ್ರೆಸಾ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ಜಯಮಾಲಾ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ.

Samartha Ventures owner Prasad who has obtained the entire distribution rights of Upendra starrer "God Father' directed by Sriram and produced by K.Manju is releasing the film in lesser than 120 theatres in the state and is joining the race of releasing the film in a large number of theatres as he had done earlier.
Incidentally the film is releasing all over Karnataka on July 27, the Vara Mahalakshmi festival day.
"Hitherto I was following a policy of reverse integration process in my distribution work of films obtained for distribution. This plan has brought some desired results.. But it also has its own risks for me as an investor. It curtails the opportunities for good films to take a long run in theatres which may limit the audience who are interested to watch the films after six weeks of the film's release.
This time I would go with the experiment of releasing in lesser number of theatres around the state to ensue that the film gets a longer run' says Prasad.
Prasad says each film needs to be assessed for a perfect release. All the previous films that I had released earlier were not seen by me before they were made to release in theatres. But I have seen God Father and has been extremely confident about the project. Hitherto my films have run for fifty days, but this time I am confident that this film which has good sentiments, action and technical values is sure to click well with the audience. That is why I have decided to release the film in lesser number of theatres than usual' says Prasad. .
Incidentally Prasad is also executing a marketing plan to attract more number of audience in the first three days. He wants to distribute the audio casettes of the film free of cost to every person who buys the tickets in the ticket counter. The music of the film is composed by A.R.Rehman and it has beenan audio hit. "I want to popularise the songs of the film and also want the early birds who watch the film to be benefited. The first three days ticket rates will be Rs. 10 more than the existing rates. But each person who wants to see the film will have the benefit of having a C.D.album of the film' says Prasad. Prasad hopes to deliver more than five lacs audios in the first three days.
Prasad is also planning a big publicity drive of the film with making a good outdoor publicity to make it more visible to the fans. The regular publicity of music channels, television channels apart, Prasad is requesting the lead stars to go to some places to outside Bengaluru to create a hype for the film before its release.

'God Father' in July

Producer K Manju another ambitious and big budget cinema with super star Upendra in triple role a remake of 'Varalaru' Tamil cinema has two fresh scorings from Oscar winner AR Rahman is all set for release in this month. There is a discussion whether 'Shiva' is first or 'Godfather' is first. Producer K Manju does not consider this as a hurdle. He intends to release 'Godfather' in a big way. The making is high class and investment is also huge for 'God Father' in the direction of Sriram. The tentative date is July 27. The film is set to get first copy and go for censor around 15th July says K Manju.

This is for the second time Upendra is in triple role. In 'Hollywood' Kannada cinema of producer Ramu and director Dinesh Babu, Upendra playd triple role in which one was robot.

Upendra excited about Trivikrama! - Taapsee too busy for Sandalwood

Upendra, who is all set to team up with Om Prakash Rao for his next project titled Trivikrama, is excited about doing a full-fledged action film for the first time.

“I'm very excited about working with Om Prakash. He is known for making big films — in terms of the budget, visuals and action sequences,” Upendra said. “I've not done a complete full-fledged action film earlier, so I am going to try my hand at it," he added.

The actor will star shooting for the movie from August. The movie revolves around a man who plans to take control of Bengaluru city. Tamil and Telugu actress Taapsee will love Upendra’s love interest in the film. 

 

Taapsee too busy for Sandalwood

The latest buzz is that model-turned-actor Taapsee is making her debut in Sandalwood opposite Upendra. The makers of his latest flick Thrivikrama have gone ahead and announced that the Vandhan Vendraan girl is their heroine.

However, the actress denies it. She says, "I have been hearing this news of my Kannada debut, but the truth is I'm so busy with my current projects in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi that I've no time for anything new."

The actress admits she was approached by some Kannada filmmakers. "Frankly, I don't remember the names of the heroes or directors, but I did get quite many offers from Karnataka recently. I don't think I can accommodate a Kannada film with my schedules right now," says Taapsee, when quizzed if Upendra or Omprakash Rao were one of the names.

The good friends from the days of 'Om' in 1995 - Upendra and Shivarajakumar both at the helm of Kannada cinema worked together as actors in 'Preethse' - a bumper crop for producer Rockline Venkatesh. Quite often they meet and good friends in the industry are well known fact.

The other day Upendra came for the audio release of 'Shiva' in Chitradurga to wish his good friend Shivarajakumar. After the audio release the news comes that Upendra has lent his voice for a song in 'Shiva' for the role of Shivarajakumar.

The song line starting Kollegaladalli nine Mata Matra Madi vasha madi kolluve...a duet song is recorded for the album already released from the voice of state award winning singer and music director Pitchalli Srinivas and Malgudi Shiva.

This song now going in for Upendra voice is a sort of disgrace from the singer. Secondly the fans and music lovers are forced to buy 'Shiva' audio once again for one song sung by super star Upendra is too much of asking. This is not a right thought from producer KP Shrikanth of 'Shiva'.

According to the latest reports Pitchalli Srinivas and Malgudi Shuba voice will be retained in the film. The audio of 'Shiva' will be re-launched on the birthday of century star Shivarajakumar on July 12. In that new audio of 'Shiva' the song of Upendra - Kollegaladalli Ninge...is additional bonus for the buyers.

After audio release in Bangalore several localities, having a grand audio release in Chitradurga district for ‘Shiva’ another song is added now. That means the CD buyers have to buy ‘Shiva’ CD once again for one song.

How does it work out for Ashwini Media network in the market is the question. However the singer of the song is also carrying superstar image in Kannada cinema makes some extra sale of the audio CD.

As everyone knows Upendra and Shivarajakumar share excellent friendship. Upendra on a request from producer KP Shrikanth came straight to the recording room and delivered the song on Kollegala.

‘Shiva’ making good noise already from its trailers released is releasing the audio CD again on 12th of July, birthday of century star Shivarajakumar.

'God Father' on 27 Week Before is 'Shiva'

Once again two big films are coming a week after week. Last time it was ‘Anna Bond’ and ‘Katariveera Sura Sundarangi’ films – worth 20 cores release in on May 1 and May 10th all over Karnataka. Both the films made good business in the entertainment field.

Now God Father and Shiva are releasing in one week gap. It is roughly about rs.13 crores contest in the box office in two weeks. Godfather of Tamil film ‘Varalaru’ is a remake while ‘Shiva’ is a straight film. Godfather Upendra has triple roles. It has AR Rehman music. Shiva starring Shivarajakumar and Ragini is in the direction of Om Prakash Rao.

As of now ‘Godfather’ by director Sriram for producer K Manju is getting the first print. Producer K manju with DI getting ready now and first print in the first week announced that he would release ‘Godfather’ on June 10 when he picked up unnecessary quarrel with producer Munirathna Naidu of KVSS.

In ‘Godfather’ Upendra is in triple roles with Soundaraya Jayamala, Ragini, Catherine, Bhumika Chawla, Ramesh Bhat and others.

Meanwhile the trailers of ‘Shiva’ are making big noise. KP Shrikanth has taken very good publicity of his film. For ‘God Father’ the publicity work has not begun after AR Rahman attending the audio release of the film.

Interestingly both ‘God Father’ and ‘Shiva’ have not got the censor approval to announce the date. The date announced by both is tentative.

ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಹೋದ ಪುಟ್ಟ, ಬಂದ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಎನ್ನುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಂದಷ್ಟೇ ವೇಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದಿಂದ ಕಾಲ್ಕಿತ್ತವು. ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿ, ನಮ್ಮಣ್ಣ ಡಾನ್, ಮುಂಜಾನೆ, ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ, ನರಸಿಂಹ, ಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ಶಿಕಾರಿ, ದಶಮುಖ, ಬ್ರೇಕಿಂಗ್ ನ್ಯೂಸ್, ಕಿಲಾಡಿ ಕಿಟ್ಟಿ, ವಿಲನ್, ಕ್ರೇಜಿಲೋಕ ಮುಂತಾದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಫ್ಲಾಪ್ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಸಾಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿತು.

ಕ್ರೇಜಿ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಅವರ ಮೂರೂ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಗಲ್ಲಾಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪಾರಿಜಾತ, ಜಾನೂ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಹಾಡಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದತ್ತ ಸೆಳೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಯಿತು.

ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಸೋತಿದ್ದರೂ ತುಸು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಂಶವೇನಂದರೆ ಕಳೆದ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗ ಗಲ್ಲಾಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದು. ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮೂಲಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಈ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 50 ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಟ್ಟು ರು.125 ಕೋಟಿ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ರು.4 ಕೋಟಿ ಬಜೆಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ಅಣ್ಣಾಬಾಂಡ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ರು.4.5 ಕೋಟಿ ಲಾಭ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟಿವಿ ರೈಟ್ಸ್ ರು.3.5 ಕೋಟಿಗೆ ಮಾರಾಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ದರ್ಶನ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ ಚಿಂಗಾರಿ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ರು.7 ಕೋಟಿ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಚಿತ್ರ ಮೊದಲ ವಾರದಲ್ಲೇ 7 ಕೋಟಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಕ ವಹಿವಾಟು ನಡೆಸಿತ್ತು.

ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿನಯದ 3D ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ 12 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಸುರಿದಿದ್ದರು. ಚಿತ್ರ ಮೊದಲವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಕಂಡು ಅಂದಾಜು 7 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಹೊಡೆದಿತ್ತು. ಸ್ಯಾಟಲೈಟ್ ರೈಟ್ಸ್ ನಿಂದಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರುವರೆ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು.

ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬಜೆಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಎರಡು ಪಟ್ಟು ಲಾಭ ಮಾಡಿದ ಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಗೋವಿಂದಾಯ ನಮಃ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದಲ್ಲೇ ಪವನ್ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಗೆಲುವಿನ ನಗೆ ಬೀರಿದರು. ರು.1.5 ಕೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ಚಿತ್ರ ರು.5 ಕೋಟಿ ಬಾಚಿದೆ ಎಂದರೆ ನೀವೇ ಊಹಿಸಿ.

ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ, ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಜೋಡಿಯ ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ

ಸೂಪರ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರಿಗೂ 'ಓಂ' ಪದಕ್ಕೂ ಭಾರೀ ನಂಟು. ಈ ನಂಟು ಈಗ ಬೇರೊಂದು ರೂಪ ತಾಳಿದೆ. ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ನಟ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರವೊಂದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಲಿದ್ದು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ 'ಓಂ' ಚಿತ್ರ ಇವತ್ತಿಗೂ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿ. ಹಾಕಿರುವ ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರ ಓಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ 'ಓಂ' ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆ ಸರ್ವೇಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ. ಅಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅದು ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಆಪದ್ಬಾಂಧವ. ಓಂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಅಜರಾಮರ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿರ್ವಿವಾದ.

ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೋ ಏನೋ, 'ಓಂ' ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ, 'ಓಂಕಾರ' ಹೆಸರಿನ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅದು ಸೂಪರ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಎನಿಸಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಹಾಕಿದ ದುಡ್ಡಿಗೆ ಮೋಸವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಮತ್ತೆ 'ಓಂ'ಕಾರದ ಬೆನ್ನುಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿ. ಅವರೀಗ ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಖ್ಯಾತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಿಗೆ ನಟನಾಗಿ ಸಾಥ್ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದೊಂಥರಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಧ್ರುವಗಳ ಸಂಗಮವಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಬಂಧನ. ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಮಾಸ್‌ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳೇ ಆದರೂ ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಭಿನ್ನತೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ 'ಹೊಡಿಬಡಿ' ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದರೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಯಾವುದೇ ಒಂದು ಕೆಟಗರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಕ್ರಿಯೆಟಿವ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಪಟ್ಟ ಗಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು.

ಬಂದಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಕಾಂಬಿನೇಷನ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಹೆಸರು 'ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ'. ನೆರೆಭಾಷೆಗಳಾಗ ತಮಿಳು, ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಖ್ಯಾತಳಾಗಿರುವ ನಟಿ 'ತಪಸಿ' ಈ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಕಿ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಶೇಷವೆಂದರೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಇದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಓಂ ಜೊತೆ ಗೋಪಿಚಂದ್ ದಾಂಡೇಲಿ ಎಂಬವರೂ ಕೂಡ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಥ್ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
