AR Rehman to grace the audio release of 'God Father'

The Oscar award winner the national pride AR Rehman has scored music for his first Kannada film ‘God Father’ that is a remake of Malayalam film ‘Varalaru’ and he is attending the audio release event happening on Saturday evening at a posh Hotel.

For the film ‘God Father’ Kannada film music director and lyricist K Kalyan utilized the video conference via skype downloading facility. AR Rehman decided on the songs for his first Kannada cinema via this system.

The conference that took place between K Kalyan and AR Rehman assistant Srinivasamurthy at Chennai studio that was passed to AR Rehman when he was in America, London, Bombay and Germany – in the last three months the tunes and lyrics were decided disclosed K Kalyan the popular lyricist of Kannada cinema. ‘Godfather’ a remake of Tamil film ‘Varalaru’ in which superstar Upendra plays triple roles with Ragini, Soundarya (daughter of Dr Jayamala) and Catherine.

The big budget film ‘Godfather’ is produced by K Manju. Sriram is the director of this film.

ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಅವರು ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಹೋಂ ಬ್ಯಾನರ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ಸ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 18ಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆಟ್ಟೇರಲಿದೆ. ಅಂದು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಆ ದಿನವೇ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ಸ್ ಜನ್ಮ ನೀಡಲಿದೆ. ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಕೂಡ ಕಲ್ಪನಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಟೋಪಿವಾಲಾ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಮುಗಿಯಲಿದ್ದು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸೆಟ್ಟೇರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, "ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಕಿರುತೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಟರ ಪತ್ನಿಯರು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕಿಯರಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೇನು ಹೊಸದಲ್ಲ. ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನುಭವವಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲನ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಪತಿ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರೇ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಅವರ ಅಭಿಲಾಷೆ. "ಈಗಾಗಲೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರು ಚಿತ್ರಕತೆ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಮೆರುಗು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾನು ಕೂಡ ಕತೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಹೆಣೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ.

ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಮಯವಿದೆ. ಅಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಕಿ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಏತನ್ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಕ್ರೇಜಿಸ್ಟಾರ್ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ಕ್ರೇಜಿಸ್ಟಾರ್' ( ಅಡಿ ಬರಹ 'ಹೃದಯಗಳ ಸೇತುವೆ') ಮುಗಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆ ಟಿವಿ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಮುಗಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕ್ರೇಜಿಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಜೊತೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಮಲ್ಲ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಹಾಟ್ ಹಾಟ್ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಪಡ್ಡೆಗಳ ನಿದ್ದೆಗೆಡಿಸಿದ್ದವು. "ಯಮ್ಮೋ ಯಮ್ಮೋ ನೋಡ್ದೆ ನೋಡ್ದೆ" ಎಂಬ ಹಾಡಂತೂ ಸಖತ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಈ ಜೋಡಿ ಏನು ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೋ ಎಂಬ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಇದ್ದೇ ಇದೆ.

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂಚೂರು ಹೇಳಲೇಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಷಯವಿದೆ. ಸೀರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಮುಗುಳ್ನಗೆಯೇ ಜೀವಾಳ. ಗಂಡ, ಸಂಸಾರ, ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಂದು ಕಳೆದು ಹೋಗದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಣ್ಣಹಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕೇವಲ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಾಗಿ. ಮದುವೆ ಬಳಿಕ ಸಭ್ಯ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಷ್ಟೇ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ.

Two Kannada films Breaking News directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar with Ajay and Radhika Pandit in the lead and Kilaadi Kitty directed by Anantha Raju with Kitty and Hari Priya were released last week.

Ram Gopal Varma`s much publicised Department opened poorly. Kataari Veera Sura Sundaraangi and Gabbar Singh are the only two films which continue to storm in the second week of release. The collections of Puneet Raj Kumar`s Anna Bond is falling.

ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾರಂತೆ. ಶಿವಣ್ಣ, ಪುನೀತ್, ರಾಘಣ್ಣ ಮೂವರೂ ಇರೋ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಥೆ ರೆಡಿ ಮಾಡ್ತಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ ಎಂದೆಲ್ಲ ಗಾಳಿಸುದ್ದಿಗಳು ಗಾಂಧಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಮೂಲಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿದೆ. ಉಪ್ಪಿಯೀಗ 'ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಭಾಗ 2'ಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ!

1999ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ಭಾರೀ ಸುದ್ದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಕ್ಸಾಫೀಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಂಡವವಾಡಿದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ 'ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ'. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇಮಾ, ರವೀನಾ ಟಂಡನ್ ಮತ್ತು ದಾಮಿನಿ ಮೂವರು ನಾಯಕಿಯರು. ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಕಥೆ, ಪಾತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿತ್ತು.

ಈಗ ಅದೇ 'ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 'ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಹಾಡುಗಳಿಂದ ಭಾರೀ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯರಾದ ಗುರುಕಿರಣ್ ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. 'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ'ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂಚಿದ ಎಚ್.ಸಿ. ವೇಣು (ತಾರಾ ಪತಿ) ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾಮ್ಯಾನ್ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಸದ್ಯ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಅನಧಿಕೃತ ಸುದ್ದಿ.

ಇದೆಲ್ಲ ಸರಿ, ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ನಾಯಕಿ? ಮೊದಲನೇ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಮೂವರಿರುತ್ತಾರಾ? ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸದ್ಯ ಉತ್ತರ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾಯಕಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇತರ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿದೆ.

ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕಾ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದು ಬಯಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಥೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ, ಈಗ ಅಂತಿಮ ಟಚ್ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳೂ ರೆಡಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ತಿಂಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಅಂತಿಮಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದ್ದು, ಮುಹೂರ್ತವೂ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿವೆ.

ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರು...
ಒಂದೂವರೆ ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್‌ಗಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮೆಟ್ರೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೆಟ್ರೋದಿಂದ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ. ನಂತರ ದೆಹಲಿ ಮೆಟ್ರೋದಲ್ಲೂ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದು ಫಲ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಅನ್ನೋದೀಗ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.

ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಲಿಸುವ ವಾಹನವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳಿವೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ರೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಬಯಸಿದ್ದರು.

Upendra To Direct Again – Priyanka Confirms Movie Production

Concrete evidence which can substantiate that Real Star Upendra is all set to direct a new film is now available. A new film is to be launched with in a months for which Ms. Priyanka Upendra, wife of Upendra is the producer with the direction of her husband. Priyanka has registered the production firm’s name with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Friday noon.

The new film to be directed by Upendra will have the music of Guru Kiran and the camera work will be handled by H.C.Venu who had recently a fantastic job as a cinemetographer for the film “Kataari veera Sura Sundaraangi’.

Upendra has already worked on the script and sources close to the actor said that he is already on the job of finalising the entire script of the film shortly. He will be writing the dialogues of the film shortly. Meanwhile, the artists and technicians of the film would be selected shortly.

Ms. Priyanka Upendra confirmed the news that her production house has registered in the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Talking to Chitraloka Mega Portal, the actress turned producer said that the film from her production house will be launched on September 18, birthday of actor Upendra.

Since the film will be launched after another three and a half months, the actor will have time to finish off her shooting commitment for films like Kalpana and Topiwala. For Kalpana, only songs have to be shot while Topiwala has one schedule left for shooting. Upendra may well use some more time to tone up his script for the new film to be produced by his wife.

ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರಗೆ ಪ್ರೇತಬಾಧೆ! ಆದರೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ. ತಮಿಳಿನ ಸೂಪರ್ ಹಿಟ್ 'ಕಾಂಚನಾ' ಕಾಪಿ 'ಕಲ್ಪನಾ'ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೇತಬಾಧೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಯುವಕನ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಪ್ರೇತಗಳು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತವೆಯಂತೆ!

ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಇಂತಹ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಯಾವ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ತುಂಬಾ ಸವಾಲಿನ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಒಂದೇ ದೃಶ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಅದನ್ನು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಯೇ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಭಯಾನಕ ಚಿತ್ರಿಕೆಯಿರುವ 'ಕಲ್ಪನಾ'ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಜಡಾ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದು. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆಯಿರುವುದೇ ಹಿಜಡಾ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ. ತಮಿಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶರತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಪೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಡೈಲಾಗ್ ಕಿಂಗ್ ಸಾಯಿಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉಳಿದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರುತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಮಾಶ್ರೀ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಷ್ಟೇ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಲೇಔಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕನನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವ ಹಾಡೊಂದರ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದಿನ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಕಲ್ಪನಾ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಗಿಯಲಿದೆ.

ರಾಮ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಇದು 125ನೇ ಚಿತ್ರ. ಕನ್ನಡದ್ದೇ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಇದು 10ನೇಯದ್ದು. ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಭರವಸೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಸ್ವತಃ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೂ ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮಿಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಘವ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದವರು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

'ಕಲ್ಪನಾ' ಮುಗಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ 'ಟೋಪಿವಾಲಾ'ದತ್ತ ಗಮನ ಕೊಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಜಾಕಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ 'ಟೋಪಿವಾಲಾ' ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತದ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮುಗಿಸಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಎರಡನೇ ಹಂತ. ಜೂನ್ 20ರಿಂದ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತೆ ಶುರು.

ರೀಮೇಕ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಜಿ

'ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಅವರು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ರೀಮೇಕ್‌ಗೆ ಶರಣೆಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮಿಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸ್ಸು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ 'ಕಾಂಚನಾ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ರೀಮೇಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಈಗ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಮಿಳು 'ಕಾಂಚನಾ' ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಡಾನ್ಸ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಜೊತೆ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಬಾಲೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ರೈ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಮ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ಆಕ್ಷನ್ ಕಟ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಇಂಟ್ರಡಕ್ಷನ್ ಹಾಡಿನ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮನಕೆರೆ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಮೂಲ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ 'ಕಲ್ಪನಾ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಪಟ್ಟೆ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ರಾಮ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್.

ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರುತಿ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಪಾತ್ರವೊಂದನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉಳಿದಂತೆ ಸಾಯಿಕುಮಾರ್, ಸಾಧು ಕೋಕಿಲ, ಶೋಭರಾಜ್, ಅಚ್ಯುತರಾವ್ ಮುಂತಾದವರ ತಾರಾಬಳಗವಿದೆ. ಸಂಗೀತ ವಿ ಹರಿಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಸೆಲ್ವರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಕೂಡ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಬೂದಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ ಕೆಂಡವಾಗಿರುವ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ವಿವಾದ

ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಗಲಾಟೆ, ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಣ್ಣಗಾಗಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಕೆಲವು ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಂದೂಗಳ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗಳು ಬೊಬ್ಬೆಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದವು.

'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಎಂಟು ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ವಾದ-ವಿವಾದ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು. ಅದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ತೂರಿಕೊಂಡ ದಲಿತ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯೊಂದು ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡದಂತೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ತಂತು.

ಇಷ್ಟೂ ದಿನ ನಡೆದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಈಗ ತಣ್ಣಗಾಗಿವೆ. ಇದೆಲ್ಲವೂ 'ನಾಟಕೀಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ' ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸದ್ದು-ಸುದ್ದಿ ಅಡಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಚಿತ್ರವು ಹೌಸ್ ಫುಲ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನರಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿರುವ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ವಾಪಸ್ಸಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹಾಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು 'ಅಪಪ್ರಚಾರದ (ತಂತ್ರ?!) ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಕೊಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಆಪ್ತಮಿತ್ರರಾದ ಕೆ. ಮಂಜು ಹಾಗೂ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ, ಹುಟ್ಟಾ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಂತೆ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಚ್ಚಾಡಿದರು. ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಬರೆದ ತಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ, ಶಿರೂರು ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದೂ ಆಯ್ತು.

ಆದರೆ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಕೇವಲ ಡ್ರಾಮಾಗಳು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಂದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ, ವಿವಾದದ ನಂತರ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಗಳಿಕೆ ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ 3ಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ತೀರಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಓಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನರಿಗೆ ಈಗ ಕಾಸು ಎಣಿಸುವುದೇ ಕೆಲಸ.

ಕಠಾರಿವೀರದ ವಿವಾದಗಳು ಏನೇ ಇರಲಿ, ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ 3ಡಿ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಅದು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಎನಿಸಿ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೇಸರ ತರಿಸುವಂತಿವೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆಯೂ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಎದುರು ಜನ ಸಾಲುಗಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಂತೂ ಈಡೇರಿದೆ. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಉದ್ದೇಶವೂ ಈಡೇರಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಗಲಾಟೆ, ವಾದ-ವಿವಾದಗಳ ಮರ್ಮವೇನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವರು ಬಾಯಿಬಿಡಬೇಕು ಅಷ್ಟೇ.

ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಗಾಗ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ, 'ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಜನರು ಬಂದೇ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ' ಎಂಬ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾ, ಸರಿಯಾ!? ಓದುಗರೇ, ನೀವೇ ಹೇಳಿ...

ಠುಸ್ಸಾಯ್ತು ಗಲಾಟೆ; 'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ'ನಿಗೆ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಕಲೆಕ್ಷನ್

 

ಹಿಂದೂ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗಳು 'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ದಾಂಧಲೆಗಳೂ ನಡೆದವು. ಸಂಧಾನವೂ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆನ್ನುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು ಸೂಪರ್ ಡ್ರಾಮಾ. ಈಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ನಿರಾಳ. ಕಟ್-ಗಿಟ್ ತಲೆಬಿಸಿಯಿಲ್ಲ, ಬರೀ ನೋಟಿನ ಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾತ್ರ!

ಹೌದು, ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ವಿವಾದಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಸುದ್ದಿಯಾದ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೊದಲ 3ಡಿ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ'ಗೆ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಂದ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗಳಿಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ 3ಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಯೇ ಓಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಜಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಖುಷಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಬಾಕ್ಸಾಫೀಸ್ ವರದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಕಠಾರಿ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಸುರಿದಿರುವ ಹಣ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ವಾಪಸ್ಸಾಗಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೇನಿದ್ದರೂ ಲಾಭ.

ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕೋದೇನಾಯ್ತು?
ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಧಾನದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಅದರಂತೆ ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲೇ ಮಧ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ ದಲಿತ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯೊಂದು, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ತಂದಿತು.

'ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಯಾವ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೂ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿತ್ತು. ರೋಗಿ ಬಯಸಿದ್ದು ಹಾಲು, ವೈದ್ಯರು ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದೂ ಹಾಲು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಮೀಸೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ನಕ್ಕರು.

ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ತಂತ್ರವೇ?
ಕೆಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಇದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಆಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಾಟಕ. ಅವರ ಪ್ರಚೋದನೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಆಗಾಗ ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯೊಂದು ಬಂದಿರುವುದರ ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಕಠಾರಿ ವೀರ ಚಿತ್ರದ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯೂ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಚಿತ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕುವುದು ಯಾಕೆ ಎಂದು ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತವೆ ಕೆಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು.

ವಿವಾದಗಳು ಏನೇ ಇರಲಿ, ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ 3ಡಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬಂದಿರುವುದು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಜೊಳ್ಳು ಕಥೆಯಿದ್ದರೂ 3ಡಿ ಚಮತ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಎದುರು ಜನ ಸಾಲುಗಟ್ಟುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿವೆ.

ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕಿಳಿದ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ

ನಮ್ಮ ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ದುರ್ಬುದ್ದಿ ಯಾಕೆ ಬಂತು ಎಂದು ಅನ್ಕೋಬೇಡಿ. ನಗರದ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯ ಚನ್ನಮ್ಮನ ಕೆರೆ ಆಟದ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರ ಕೈಗೆ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬೀದಿ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು.

ಕನ್ನಡ, ತಮಿಳು, ತೆಲುಗು ಹೀಗೆ 125ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳನ್ನು ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ರಾಮ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಕಲ್ಪನಾ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣದ ವೇಳೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಬೀದಿಗಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಇಂಟ್ರಡಕ್ಶನ್ ಸೀನ್.

ಟಾಕಿ ಪೋರ್ಷನ್ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಮ್ಮಿ ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ. ಹಾಡುಗಳ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಬಾಕಿಯಿದೆ. ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಪ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ ಕೆಲಸ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಆಗುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ವಾರಗಳ ಮೇಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಕಲ್ಪನಾ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ಸಕಾಲ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ರಾಮ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್.

Upendra Introduction Scene Shoot 'Kalpana'

 

At Channammanakere grounds in Malahalskhmi grounds there was heavy crowd because of the presence of Upendra at the shooting spot of his ‘Kalpana’ a remake of ‘Kanchana’.

The craze for Upendra was multi fold as ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi ’ has given him some more popularity. Director of ‘Kalpana’ Ramanarayan was capturing the introduction shots featuring Upendra and others on Monday morning at the busy Mahalakshmi Layout locality.

Upendra with stumps of the cricket ground and other with bat clashing were the scenes shot. Upendra finishing this portion is moving to ‘Topiwala’ from 20th of June.

For ‘Kalpana’ two songs are balance and the entire shooting has been completed at the appropriate time. A horror, humor with a message of Tamil film ‘Kanchana’ by Raghava Lawerence is made in Kannada as ‘Kalpana’ by Thenandal Films in a lavish style. This is the 125thfilm of producer cum director Ramnarayan.

This is the 10th film in Kannada of director Ramnarayan. To suit Upendra image there are some dialogues too. Shruthi, Umasri, Saikumar, Achyuth Rao, Sadhu Kokila, Shobaraj plus Lakshmi Rai are in the cast. Mangala Mukhi Priya is also in the cast says Ramnarayan addressing the media. This is a technical film with five songs from Harikrishna V says Ramnarayan. Selvaraj is the cameraman. Raghav Lawerence is also in the team of this film.

ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ತದ್ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯೊಂದು ಗುರುವಾರ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ಯಥಾವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ದಲಿತ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಸಿವಿಲ್ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲೇರಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ದೃಶ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಅನುಮೋದನೆಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದೆ.

ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಆದೇಶ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕಡೆ ಹಿಂದೂ ಪರ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಒತ್ತಡ. ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗೆ ತಲೆಬಾಗಬೇಕೆ? ಅಥವಾ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗಳ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿಯಬೇಕೆ? ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಬ್ಲಂ ಯಾರಿಗ್ಹೇಳೋಣ ಎಂಬಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಡೆ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಆದೇಶ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಪರವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಅವರು ಒಳಗೊಳಗೆ ಖುಷಿಪಡುವಂತೆಯೂ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

Katari Veera Surasundarangi dream run continues at Box Office

Katari Veera Surasundarangi has continued its dream run at the Box Office. The movie, which was released on May 10, has collected Rs 7.20 crore in its first weekend.

A source close to the production house said, “Katari Veera Surasundarangi has raked in somewhere around 7.20 crore. Leaving aside the shares, it has earned approximately Rs 5.50 crore for producer Munirathna. The movie is expected to recover the production cost by the end of next week.”

Katari Veera Surasundarangi, which is made with the budget of Rs 12 crore, collected whopping Rs 5 crore plus in the first three days with an average of 85% occupancy per show.

Upendra, Ramya and Ambareesh starrer film is directed by Suresh Krishna. Meanwhile, the makers of the film are planning to release the film outside Karnataka and other countries.

A meeting organised on Thursday evening to amicably solve the controversy surrounding the forthcoming film Kataari Veera Sura Sundaraangi ended in an anti-climax. The producer had agreed to remove objectionable scenes, but a court order against its removal was brought to their notice.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other organisations had raised objections over some controversial dialogues and scenes in film.
Seers from important mutts, led by Santosh Guruji, and activists of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad watched the film at a special screening organised by producer Munirathna at Renukamba Preveiw theatre.

The seers were able to watch the film till the scene, where Upendra alias Mass Maanava returns to the earth.

While appreciating the producer for effecting six cuts that show Hindu religion and Gods in poor light, Santosh has advised him to remove two more scenes - one criticising Rama and Krishna and the other one where hero kicks Gods.

“For the first time, heads of various mutts have raised voice against a film that depicts Hindu religion and Gods in poor light. Many films that have objectionable dialogues were made in the past. We are warning producers not to make such films in future,”he said.

Promising to follow the seer’s advice, Munirathna has said: “I need two more days to remove such scenes.”

Dalit body moves court
Meanwhile, someone brought the stay order (OS No. 3368/2012) by the City Civil and Sessions Judge on Thursday, restraining the producer from exhibiting the altered movie in contravention with the certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certificate. Dalita Rakshana Vedike had approached the court seeking direction to the producer to not to effect any cuts recommended some religious organisations.

Expressing surprise over the timing of the stay order, the seer said: “We are all set to find an amicable solution. I did not expect someone to approach the court for a stay order. I will consider the court order as a prasada and leave the matter to the discretion of producer.”

Censor Board clarifies
However, K Nagaraj, Regional Officer, Central Board for Film Certification, has said that no one can interfere or disturb the screening of a film once it was okayed by the Censor Board.

Bengaluru Box Office Report about KVSS (May 11 to 13)

Kataari Veera Sura Sundaraangi was released on May 10 after facing lot of controversies before the film’s release. Even after its release the socio fantasy film faced the wrath of pro Hindu activities who were raged against the film for wrongly portraying Hindu gods.

But the film’s collections have been extra ordinarily good from the date it was released. The film’s success in ticket counter has been uniform in the sense that collections are good in multiplexes and single screens.

ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿನಯದ 'ಸೂಪರ್' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೊದಲ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನದ ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ 'ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ' ಒಂದು ಕೈ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಕಾಲ್ಪನಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರವಾದ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರವನ್ನು ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಭಾರಿ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವುದು ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಇದೆ. ಮಳೆ, ಗಾಳಿ, ಬಿಸಿಲನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರು ' ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ'ನನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಬಿದ್ದು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಚಿತ್ರವೆಂಬ ಹಣೆಪಟ್ಟಿ ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಂದ ಗಳಿಸಿರುವ ಮಿಶ್ರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡುವೆಯೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬಾಕ್ಸ್ ಆಫೀಸ್ ಗಳಿಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಮೊದಲ ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 5.7 ಕೋಟಿ ರು. ಗಳಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಹುಬ್ಬೇರಿಸಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ವಾರ, ಮೇ 10ಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ '3ಡಿ' ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗಿನ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿದೆ.

12 ಕೋಟಿ ರು ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವವರು ಈ ಮೊದಲು ರಕ್ತಕಣ್ಣೀರು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ. ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ 12 ಕೋಟಿ ರು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅವರು ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಲಾಭದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ ಗಳಿಕೆಯಿದ್ದರೆ ಎರಡನೇ ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ವಾಪಸ್ ಆಗಿ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂದಹಾಸ ಖಾತ್ರಿ.

ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದಾಗಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಒಂದಲ್ಲ ಒಂದು ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಇರುವ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯ ನಂತರವಂತೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಕೆಂಗಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಲವು ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತರಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆಗೂ ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ ಕಠಾರಿವೀರದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂಬುದು ತೀವ್ರ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಕೆರಳಿಸಿದೆ.

Uppi-Manu Apologise at Udupi

The super star of Kannada cinema Upendra and producer Munirathna Naidu have jointly tendered apology to the Hindu sentiments and paid penalty towards ‘Kanike’ to the Lord Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi on Monday evening.

The hue and cry was raised for the degrading the Hindi Gods in ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi ’ in various part of Karnataka resulted in tension and stalling the film screening in several theatres.

Sri Lakshmivara Thirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Math held the talks with the waging team and producer plus hero of the film ‘KVSS’ and settled the issue. Accordingly Upendra and Munirathna Naidu have agreed to minus the objections before Thursday.

In the form of penalty ‘Gold Coins’ to Lord Krishna ‘Hundi’ was offered by Upendra. The mistake has happened and it has hurt the sentiments of Hindus means we will delete such objections – Upendra and Munirathna Naidu openly agreed in front of the public. Upendra and Munirathna Naidu came to Udupi Kanaka Gopura and offered the ‘Gold Coins’ to Lord Sri Krishna.

Meanwhile in a place like Sindhagi JDS, BSP Muslim Muthahid Council and Tippu Committee members have urged the film should be as it is and no cuts are necessary.

ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕ ನಟ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರು ಸೋಮವಾರ (ಮೇ 14) ಉಡುಪಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಶಿರೂರು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿವರ ತೀರ್ಥ ಶ್ರೀಗಳ ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಿದರು. ಕನಕನ ಕಿಂಡಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದು ತಪ್ಪು ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

KVSS to set a new record

It looks as if the combination of Upendra and Munirathna has hit the bulls-eye with Kataari Veera Sura Sundaraangi which has completed four days.

Despite the controversy regarding the way the Hindu gods have been portrayed in the film, the socio mythological fantasy is creating waves in the industry. The onset of the rain also affected the collections. But the records so far shows that the film is on its way to becoming a hit and might even surpass the collections of Upendra`s previous hit, Super.

"As far as my own films are concerned, Kataari Veera recorded the best collection in the first four days. I think people are overwhelmed with the film in 3D.

"Rockline Multiplex had fifteen shows on Sunday. All the eleven screens which were screening the 3D version and four screens with 2D versions was houseful. The same is the case in INOX multiplexes. I am happy that even the screens which feature 2D prints are doing very well. Despite so much pressure, I am happy Kataari Veera... has become the pick of the mass and class alike. I hope the collections remain steady in days to come", says Munirathna.

The film`s hero Upendra is also overwhelmed with the wonderful response for the film. "I can only thank my fans and all sections of audience for backing this venture. The film is turning out to be a major hit in my career", says Upendra.

One admirable feature is that the film is a big multiplex hit as well as a hit in the single screens in cities and interiors. The multiplex audience is flocking to the theatres screening the film to watch the 3D version of the film, while the semi-urban audience are enjoying the film just for pure fun and Upendra`s distinctive style of dialogue delivery.

Though the story is predictable and is a remix of many successful Telugu films, the main attraction is that the film is in 3D technology. Even the family audience and children are thrilled.

ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ, ರಮ್ಯಾ ಮುಖ್ಯಭೂಮಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ' ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕೆಲವು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಕತ್ತರಿಬೀಳಲಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವಾನು ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಹೇಳನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹಿಂದೂ ಪರ ಸಂಘಟೆನೆಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದವು.

ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಸೇನೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಪ್ರಮೋದ್ ಮುತಾಲಿಕ್, ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಎಂಟು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲು ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಇದು ಹಿಂದೂ ಪರ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂದ ಜಯ ಎಂದು ಮುತಾಲಿಕ್ ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದರು.

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪರಿಷ್ಕೃತ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗುರುವಾರ (ಮೇ 17) ಮಠಾಧೀಶರು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮುತಾಲಿಕ್.

Upendra was surrounded by a mob in SAKALESHPUR

Superstar of Kannada cinema Upendra was surrounded by a mob when he was at Sakleshpur to attend a friend wedding on Saturday evening.

The mob nothing but Bajarang Dal workers knowing that Upendra is coming to the marriage of Ramesh at Shinappa Shetty Kalyana Mantap thronged well in advance. They questioned Upendra on the contents and dialogues in the ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi ’. Super star Upendra was asked to apologize for the insult to Hindi Gods in his film. Upendra did not agree for it. He was not allowed to get inside the car.

Later Upendra assistants apologized and then the car of Upendra sitting was allowed to go.

At Gayathri theatre in Sakleshpur the Bajrang Dal mob forcibly asked for stopping of the film. This situation continued in Belagavi, Jamakhandi, Bagalkot, Kumata theatres where KVSS is showing

Upendra's flick upsets religious sentiment

It's just been a few days since Uppi's latest offering, Katari Veera Surasundarangi, has been cleared of plagiarism and the film has hit the screens, but the movie is mired in another controversy. This time around, a couple of pontiffs, and political and religious outfits have taken offence to some of the scenes in the flick, which they claim have portrayed Hindu gods in bad taste.

Protests held across the state

Following this, a few political and religious groups staged protests in Mangalore, Udupi and Chickmaglur outside various theatres and even burnt posters of the film. The group has appealed to the Censor Board and the Film Chamber to not approve films that offend religious sensibilities. Three theatres in Mangalore and Udupi were forced to stop the screening of the film and some of these outfits are reported to hold state-wide protests today.

Public can decide themselves

An irked Rockline Venkatesh, the distributor of the film, says the public isn't foolish enough to accept a film that has objectionable content. "Every movie is approved by the authorities keeping in mind the rules and regulations. Only then are these films released for public viewing. If certain groups still find some scenes offensive, we're willing to hear them out," he says. He adds that he will hold a meeting with Chamber officials along with the film's producer, Muniratna, and invite various groups to be part of the discussion. "We want to create a healthy atmosphere and hold a debate where everyone can share their views. They can point out where we have gone wrong," says Rockline. While the filmmakers are willing to sort out the matter peacefully, Rockline is upset with the way the groups have caused inconvenience to the public and are barring them from watching the movie.

'Not worried about profits'

Meanwhile Muniratna, Rockline and the Film Chamber president KV Chandrashekar have gone to Mangalore to meet with the various groups and resolve the issue. "I'm not someone who is worried about profits because making a 3D film in Kannada is not a viable option. I've made it only because I wanted our people to enjoy such a film. We will discuss the portions that have offended certain sections of society and contemplate further action," says Muniratna.

WhenTOI contacted the film's hero, Upendra, he refused to comment on the issue. "I don't know what's happening, so I don't want to talk about it," is all he says.

'There's nothing offensive about it'

While allegations have been made that the Censor Board is being liberal in its approval of Katari Veera..., regional officer K Nagraj says they didn't find anything objectionable in the film. "A five-member committee watched the 3D and 2D versions. Cinema is about freedom of expression and as long as it is within reasonable limits, we do not recommend cuts. Katari Veera... is a part comedy film and everything has been conveyed in a humorous way in accordance with the situation. Viewers will not be offended by the film's content."

The city civil court had earlier served a notice to Uppi and Muniratna, the producer of Katari Veera..., based on a plaint filed by a small-time actor named Niranjan Shetty, who allegedly accused the duo of using his story for the film. An injunction had come into effect, stopping post-production of the film.

ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 7 ರಿಂದ 8, ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವಾನುದೇವತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅವಹೇಳನಕಾರಿ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕಲು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಷರತ್ತು ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಒಪ್ಪಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಧಾನ ಸಭೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತಾದರೂ ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಆಚೆ ಕಳಿಸಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸಿರುವ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಇದೀಗ ಮುಂದೇನಾಗುವುದೋ ಎಂಬ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಕಾಡಿದೆ. ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ವೇಳೆ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ವಿಘ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಅದೇ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾಳೆ ಅದೇನು ಗ್ರಹಚಾರ ಕಾದಿದೆಯೋ ಎಂದು ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ ಮಾಡುವಂತಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸವಾಲನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

’ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರ ಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ’ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ’ಬಜರಂಗದಳ’ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಧಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಭೆ ಕರೆದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಂಧಾನ ಈಗ ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಚಿತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಲವು ದೃಶ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ’ಬಜದರಂಗ ದಳ’ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಮುನಿರತ್ನ ಮುಂದಿನ ಒಂದು ವಾರ ಚಿತ್ರಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಹೇಳನಕಾರಿ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪದ ಬಜರಂಗದಳದ ಸಂಘಟಕರು ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ತಡೆ ಹಾಕಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ’ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ’ ಹಾಗೂ ’ಬಜರಂಗದಳ’ ಸಂಘತನೆ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಧಾನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ

Finally, “Katariveera Surasundarangi” is here, after all the drama surrounding its release. Producer Muniratna’s money is well spent.

Right from frame one, the viewer (familiar with Java, Flash player) is made aware of just how opulent the film is... the sets, the CGI and the treatment — everything is dipped in moolah!

“Katariveera...” has more 3D scenes and attendant controversies than Prem’s “Jogaiah”! It’s also true that the magic grabs hold of those who have never or rarely been exposed to the technology. But for the rest, it’s a case of “what could have been”. Or even a measure of pride.

Upendra, who seeks magic over logic and thrill in life, tries to become a don. Old don Muthappa Rai (in a cameo) tries to dissuade him but Uppi ends up getting thrown into a tank, full of bullets and goes straight up.

With enough rights and wrongs in his lifetime in equal measure, he is allowed to enter hell and heaven without fuss. He plays enough havoc with Yama’s system of dispensing justice that he is packed off to heaven where he meets the beautiful Indraja, daughter of Indra.

It’s not long before both Yama and Indra realise that a “khatarnak maanava” has entered their domain and they proceed to teach him a lesson.

The platter on offer is full and varied. Upendra’s screenplay has all the tricks in his bag to Muniratna’s ‘story’. He revisits his famous “Kantha, Kantha” Mohana role in “Rakta Kanneeru,” gets his “Buddhivanta” co-star Suman Ranganath scamper around in an itsy-bitsy number and uses all his guile in delivering that “message” to the masses in typical style.

He holds a mirror to the ever-increasing self-absorption of the society.

For the real glamour quotient, of which there is little, he has Ramya for company. Chubby in a few frames and innocently sensuous in others, Ramya fits the bill. It would have been interesting if the actress had dubbed for her role. After her intro song (which has Ilayaraja’s influence), it is hard to push aside “Atilokasundari” Sridevi whenever Ramya addresses Uppi in the heaven.

Ambi’s is a looming presence as the Lord of Death. His diction disappoints a bit. Upendra though shines as Mohana, who rules the netherworld briefly, swatting away Chitragupta’s objections in a memorable monologue. Doddanna and Sridhar look the part.

Songs fail to touch any chord while Venu’s hard work with the camera shows.
“Katariveera...” manages to wow viewers mainly through its art design and Upendra’s dialogues that have a touch of desperation.

But these are desperate times, aren’t they?

Thanks to the rave reviews his latest movie Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi (KVSS) has received, the actor can't stop gushing about the same.

He wrote on his twitter page: "Thank you for the tremendous response, kvss was shot with panasonic 3D camera, watch it with family and experience 3D entertainment."

Well, this movie has created a revolution of sorts for providing a 3-dimensional entertainment. Yes, the movie was shot with a 3D camera. His fans claim the film to be visually arresting! This being a pioneering effort in Kannada cinema has its hurdles in the form of technical glitches. However, the real star was quick to assure his fans that all was well. He tweeted, "Technical problem has been resolved, Nartaki and other theaters are showing the 3D version of kvss."

The movie stars Ramya as the female lead. Besides the special effects, the cinematography and music too is being talked about by film buffs. Will this movie create another record like Upendra's earlier venture Super. His fans are keeping their fingers crossed while Uppi hopes so.

STORY –

Love is eternal whether it is Booloka, Yamaloka or Swarga Loka! This is a complete fantasy film with no logic but only magic. All policies are thrown in the wind to give entertainment, entertainment and entertainment.

In the discussion of Brahma and Saraswathi the new stage is set that gives work for Yamadharama and Indra who are happily sitting in the throne. That is the creation of a special character that has done good and bad equally.

He is keen to know how heaven is and on a special permission of Chitragupta (Doddanna) he goes to heaven for a few minutes. Mass Manava is in love with Indraja (Ramya) daughter of Indra (Sridhar). Although he comes back to hell he master minds an idea to go back to heaven again to meet his dream girl before completing 15 days in hell.

In the court of Yama Dharama the Mass Manava creates a confusion of election to the position of Yamadharama. One of the culprits in hell Mohana (Upendra of Raktha Kanneeru) gives an idea to Yama to shift Mass Manava to Swarga so that his seat is intact. This is what Mass Manava also wanted.

Mass Manava in the Swarga Loka again creates commotion and the deep love with Indraja and reciprocation of it is a problem again. Indraja a Devakanye is not supposed to marry ordinary common man. At this time Brahma arrives on the scene and gives a judgment.

According to the judgment of Brahma Indraja and Mass Manava are given permission to marry on earth. He should not commit three mistakes. Yama Dharma should also go to earth and see to it Mass Manava creates three mistakes.

Indraja losing her hear to Mass Manava tries all means to save him from telling lies. A few developments now take place in Yama Loka as the power is now given to Mohana (Upendra). He brings drastic changes and allows people to make big mistakes but not small mistakes.

On earth Yama Dharama with Chitragupta following Mass Manava and Indraja finally loses to true love. He blesses the lovers to live happily.

ANALYSIS –

The main trump card of this film is the technology of 3D. It is fantastic in results at places. Throughout the film the 3D effect is not visible. Had the film not been with 3D effect this film would have been a damp squib.

There is no logic at all in all the three ‘Lokas’ living. The mass Manava that is Upendra takes control of all the three Lokas and make even Yama Dharama, Indra to shut their mouth. At least at this level the logic should have been there to have some control.

We have heard tales from grandmothers and grandparents on the Swarga and Narak. Such tales has been instrumental in building up our life. The essence of doing good go to heaven and doing bad go to hell is acceptable in the social life even to this day.

What happens in this film ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’ is entirely different. An ordinary man creating commotion and confusion is nothing but crossing the limits. It destabilizes the entire set up of minds in the social life.

For taking a ride on the sentiments and spoiling the images of people – the film makers have no right to ride on it. The mass media film should enhance the already accepted theory of ‘Heaven and Hell’. Passing new orders to these courts no one has the right. This is the area the film has made a blunder.

‘KVSS’ using very less characters and hundreds of extras and grandeur in the form of sets and technology has not written anything new in the mass media.

The 3D technology is also in highest standards in the Hollywood films. No doubt the effects from this film are the main draw of the film. The concept, screenplay and burying the standards the makers have no right to exercise. That is the main disgrace of this film.

There is no proper script that is convincing and logical issues should have been adopted at places at least to maintain the dignity of heaven and hell.

A great director like Suresh Krissna should have used more sensible points. He is simply driven the ‘Love affair from heaven to earth via hell’. Has the director in Upendra come to the working pattern of Suresh Krissna?

To give a pep and respect the elders who have passed away from earth in the heaven Sai Baba, Dr Rajakumar, Kuvempu, NTR, MGR, Chi Udayashanker, Dr Vishnu, Shanker Nag are all shown in a song number in passing shots.

Upendra telling Ramya 36, 24 and 36 and another dialogue repeated looking at her is not in good taste. The Upendra as Yamadharama when Yamadharma in a small vacation the dialogues are very punching.

The other possibilities of weakness of Chitragupta were required instead seducing a woman. In a mobile phone Upendra catches Chitragupta romance and blackmail him. It is blackberry phone used for blackmailing.

The real star Upendra is seen as Yamadharama narrating lengthy dialogues. This portion of the film is rather very interesting. The small mistake committers will be punished heavily is an indirect remark on such people. The point is that small mistake should be deleted from mind at the early stage so that it will not lead to big ones is the only vulnerable point of this ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’.

3D effect of Ramya holding the Varamala and coming forward gives a fantastic feel, the air bubbles, flowers, Gadhe of Ambarish, Vajrayudha of Indra and other set properties used to give effect has an impact.

PERFORMANCE –

There is no control in Upendra acting and dialogue delivery. He is a real stunner on screen and he is superb in dialogue delivery. The bail application he often takes by saying there is no logic only magic in the cinema. For the fans of Upendra there is enough of stock to feel happy and enjoy.

For others Upendra is seen in Yamadharama giving lengthy dialogue on ‘Chikka Thappu’ is an eye opener. But before that he cajoles the Hell and Heaven loses its strength of alerting people.

Ramya looks beautiful from the ornaments and costumes but the tight fitting for her gives a feel that she has become very fat. There is not much of scope for Ramya to show her acting prowess. She had taken part in romantic moments with Upendra in Jum Jumka…song.

Ambarish as Yamadharma is very convincing. The agile personality and make up for actor of over 200 films plus dialogues delivered by Ambarish is stunning. Sridhar as Indra is convincing. Doddanna as Chitragupta should have asked for deletion of scenes with a set up in Yama Loka. Muthappa Rai in a guest appearance has given that strong feel required for the film when Upendra evince interest in becoming a don to get thrill in life.

TECHNICALITY –

Full marks to the 3D technology. There is a great difficulty in making this kind of cinema. The properties selected the situations tailor made for the 3D effect is bombastic. In the very first scene of the film there is a good invitation to the audience when flower petals come before the eyes. One feels like catching it.

The 3D technique and HC Venu cinematography is the first main stay of this film. The 3D effect is the main savior of the ordinary stuff of contents.

The days of technology ruling over the script and artists is very near. This is evident from ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’.

V Harikrishna music is measured for the image of Upendra. There is a mass song, duet song, image building song etc in this film. The editing of this film is another high point of the film.

Last but not the Least – Amendments can be made for constitution. For social beliefs amendments should be tried logically for better life.

'Katari Veera Sura Sundaraangi is total fun'

Upendra is upbeat about his film Super winning the coveted state award for the best film. He is equally so about his forthcoming release, Katari Veera Sura Sundaraangi (KVSS), which is described as a 'mythological-based social fantasy 3D film'. Ramya, Ambarish, Doddanna and Sridhar are in the cast. The film will release tomorrow.

The film has been mired in controversy with another producer K Manju wanting to release his film Godfather ahead of KVSS, which stars Upendra in the lead. With Manju and producer of KVSS, Munirathna Naidu, calling a truce, Godfather may release in the month of June.

In this interview with Srikanth Srinivasa, Upendra who plays a double role in KVSS, talks about the film, it's making and his experience working in a 3D film.

What is KVSS all about?

Katari Veera Sura Sundaraangi is a mixture of fiction, social, science and a fun film based on mythology. It is a social fantasy film with a totally imaginative story.

Producer Munirathna wanted to make a movie on a grand scale to disprove the belief that Kannada films have poor production values. He wanted to show off colourful costumes and huge sets and so an interesting story was woven around this

MAHATMARA DARSHANA IN `KATARI VEERA SURASUNDATANGI` –UPENDRA SPEAKS

Dr Rajakumar and Chi Udayashanker – what they are doing in Swarga Loka is the imagination of Mahatmas audience would find in the film ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’ Kannada cinema.

The announcement came when the credit was given in the audio CD of the film for Chi Udayashanker for the changed lyrics of the ‘Bahaddur Gandu’ Mutthinantha Mathondu Gottenamma….

In Swarga Loka Annavru says get the lyrics from Chi Udayashanker….that changed format is given like this….Upendra disclosed jokingly but it appears to be true in the film.

The main focus of ‘KVSS’ is entertainment in 3D. According to Upendra for the first time in the world level this kind of film is made. We have shown Swarga and Naraka. The suggestion is don’t make a small mistake. Make a big mistake is sarcastically told. There is a dose of good message from the film with the sweet pill of entertainment says Upendra.

Working for the film was ‘Naraka’ as 2D and 3D was planned. For the viewers of this film the ‘Swarga’ feel will be there says Upendra.

It is in the film ‘KVSS’ Upendra will be a speedster in dialogues and cajoling Ramya by saying 34,24,36 often. In the 3D effect everyone would try to catch Ramya in the theatre but she will be elusive pointed Upendra.

In the observation of Upendra a producer like Munirathna Naidu is most important for cinema making. He loves his film to the core. In KVSS it is Muni Maya. Upendra lauded the team effort.
