Real Star Upendra's new directorial venture to be produced by his wife and actress Priyanka Upendra is all set to be launched, according to sources. But now the script work is still to be done. It may be taken up only after Upendra finishes his work for K.Manju's new production "Super Kick' to be directed by Ramesh Arvind.
Ramesh Arvind will be also returning to direction after a gap by directing a film for Upendra. Earlier he had to direct a film for legendary actor Dr. Vishnuvardhana, but it did not materialise.
Another film with Shivanna is on cards for this hugely successful director for which details are not forthcoming. Super Kick is the remake of Telugu film Kick starring Ravi Teja and Ileana. The film became a sensational hit and producer K.C.N.Kumar had obtained the remake rights for making a film with Kiccha Sudeep. But since Sudeep is not interested to do any remakes in future, the project was dropped and a new film will be taken up which will have an original story. The director for this project has not yet been finalised.
K.C.N. Kumar sold the remake rights to K. Manju and he immediately approached Upendra to work out a film under the direction of Ramesh Arvind. He had already discussed the project with Ramesh Arvind earlier. Ramesh Arvind will direct this film and also playing the role of Shyam in the original Kick.
The cast and crew for this film is not finalised yet, but P.K.H.Doss is likely to be the cinematographer for this film. Hari Krishna may be the choice for music direction. Since the heroine will have a
performance oriented character, a suitable character has to be finalised for this film.
The urgency to launch this film immediately after the completion of Topiwala directed by RJ Srini is that now Bollywood actor Salman Khan is all set to start shooting for Hindi remake of Kick shortly.
Salman Khan is finishing his projects quite early by offering bulk dates for his producers. K.Manju wants that the Kannada version to be released earlier than the Hindi version.
This may delay the launch of Uppi's directorial venture to March or April, by which time the script and dialogue writing work and selection of artists and technicians for the film would have been completed.
