Ramesh Aravind to direct Uppi?

This can be called a casting coup that Sandalwood fans will be 'kicked' about. Actor-director Ramesh Aravind is all set to don the director's hat yet again — and he's apparently been roped in to direct Real Star Upendra in Super Kick.

Confirming the news, producer K Manju says, "I've always wanted to work with Ramesh Aravind since he gave me a big hit in the form of Rama Shama Bhama. We've been thinking about doing a project ever since, but now we've got the right combination, with Upendra also coming onboard."

According to the filmmaker, Super Kick will be a family entertainer, masala and laughs included. Meanwhile, a source close to the film says that the project will also have Ramesh acting with Upendra.

"While the project is still at a nascent stage, Ramesh might also act in this film. Right now, Ramesh is committed to do a film that is to start in September, while Upendra has to finish Topiwala. Super Kick will begin only after both actors complete their commitments and that will most probably be towards the fag end of October. The scripting work might involve both the actors' contributions," says the source.

The hunt for the heroine, adds the source, is already on. "Just as Upendra cast Nayanthara in Super, the makers are looking for a known, albeit new face in Sandalwood, who is also very glamorous," says the source.

When contacted, Ramesh confirmed that discussions are on for such a project, but said that nothing has been finalized "on paper".
