The stalwart director P Vasu was in humble mood. As expected results have not come for ‘Arakshaka’ has not come to him from the box office with Upendra as leading star. The collections of eight days Rs.3.42 crores was deserved to be more in ‘Arakshaka’ case.
‘Arakshaka’ is watched for the second time gives a good travel with the main character we have discussed from ‘psychogenic amnesia’ angle. The split mind of Arunkumar in the film is kept purposefully after consulting my doctor friend Dr Rangarajan. The aspect of confusion told in the media director P Vasu agrees to some extent but at the same time he says it is a convincing cinema he makes it firm. Had the regular pattern of screenplay narration is made then it would not have been Upendra and P Vasu film says the intelligent director addressing the media.
I am not in the hangover of ‘Aptha Mithra’ or ‘Aptha Rakshaka’, P Vasu answering several questions from the media single handedly till Upendra, Gurukiran and producer Krishna Prajwal came to the spot rather late.
Upendra is able to understand my thoughts and screenplay techniques because he is also director. He knows the job well and I have seen his ‘A’ and ‘Raktha Kanneeru’. I brought the subject straight to him rather than going to others informs P Vasu.
Super star Upendra has ascertained from his real observers of his film that there is only confusion but the overall film is impressive. It is only the film is seen second time it is more understandable. When A was made I had written Buddivantharige Mathra….now we have to write a caption ‘Athi Buddivantharige Mathra….
According to distributor Basha of Bahar Films the film ‘Arakshaka’ in eight days collected Rs.3.42 crores in which producer share is Rs.2.5 crores.
