Actor Upendra to sport six-pack abs in Topiwala

The latest entry into the six-pack abs club is actor Upendra. Word has it that the actor has toned up for his upcoming flick Topiwala.

The film, directed by MG Srinivas — who had received positive reviews for his Simply Kailawesome — has been creating a lot of buzz in the film circles and with news of Uppi having achieved six-pack abs particularly for this film pouring in, the hype reaches a new level. “He put himself through a strict diet and a rigorous work out regime for over six months to achieve this look,” says a source.

The team has been very guarded about the plot, but with Uppi having gone for the sleek look, fans for sure can gear up for some heavy duty action. What we have also heard is that the actor plays a con man in the film. Bhavana, who has tasted success with Jackie and Vishnuvardhana, is teaming up with Uppi for the first time. Harikrishna is composing the music. He is expected to shoot for the film in February.

Even before Topiwala goes on floors, Uppi has been roped in to play the lead in an Anaji Nagaraj family entertainer. “The film will focus on the plight of techies who go overseas looking for better career prospects. It is also about the Indian diaspora. Uppi plays an aspiring software engineer,” reveals Anaji Nagaraj. 70 per cent of the shoot will take place in America or in Europe. “All the popular comedians of Kannada industry will be cast in the film,” adds Nagaraj.

The film is tentatively titled London Gowda. It may be recalled that this was the title that was initially considered for Uppi’s political drama Super. Uppi’s Aarakshaka, Katari Veera Surasundarangi, Kalpana and Godfather are also almost ready for release.
