Director R Chandru - who is fresh from the success of Charminar, which is celebrating its 50-day run in theatres - has revealed his next film. He is going to direct Real Star Upendra in a film titled Bramha - The Leader. The shoot for the film will commence in the first week of May.
Chandru is reportedly making the film in Kannada and Telugu. He is also said to have chosen a mass-oriented subject. It is said that actors from the Kannada and Telugu film industries will act in Bramha. The budget of the film is estimated to be Rs 25 crore.
Fifteen years ago, a film with the same title starred Ambareesh in the lead. This was also the first film in which Sudeep acted. However, the film was shelved mid-way through the shoot. The producer of that film, Shantharaj, has therefore given R Chandru permission to use the title for this next film. A no-objection certificate has already been obtained from Shantharaj for the same. Chandru, who is thrilled with the success of Charminar, which he also produced, reportedly said he had the basic idea for this film for a long time and developed it over the span of a few years. It is said that Upendra agreed to be part of the project as soon as he heard the script.
