On the 57th Kannada Rajyotsava Day, Upendra urges the youth in the city to take more pride in their culture and their state. "The younger generation needs to imbibe this sense of pride in itself. They need to be happy about being a part of a state that is so rich in culture and diversity. While we are cosmopolitan by nature, a little pride in being Kannadiga or living here is also good," says the Real Star.
He adds, "The Kannada film industry, too, needs the support of Gen Next if we are to flourish. I'm proud to be a Kannadiga. I wish you'll ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಹಾರ್ಧಿಕ ಶುಭಾಷಯಗಳು. "
