 When producer K.P.Srikanth announced that he will be making a film Topiwala starring Upendra with a new director called Srinivas, many eyebrows were raised. For the many people who were only focused only on the developments in commercial films, Srinivas was an unknown name. But for many people in the media circles and performing arts like theatre, M.G. Srinivas was not a new name. He had made a name as a Radio Jackie and was known as RJ Srini. He had also acted in a few films as an actor including in “Just Math Mathnalli’, “Chirru’ and “Prem Kahani’.

His biggest achievement is that his 45 minute Simply Kailawesome, a Kannada film , has won the prestigious Platinum Remi Award at the 44th Annual WorldFest-Houston Independent International Film Festival (indie film fest). The film is produced by Well known Kannada film producer S.V. Babu.

The Platinum Remi Award is inspired by the creative genius of the great artist, Frederic Remington, famous for his paintings and sculptures of the Old American West.
Srinivas says it was a matter of prestige that Simply Kailawesome is the first Kannada film to get the award. The film is inspired by A.S. Murthy’s classic play, ‘Typical Arathi’.
Simply Kailwesome has four female characters from four of Kailasam’s major plays. All the four are being played by Chaya Singh while Srinivas himself is Kailasam. The man behind the camera is Shreesha Kuduvalli while Shri has edited the film. B.J. Bhart has scored the music.

Srinivas has picked Shreesha Kuduvalli as the cinemetographer of Topiwala. Hari Krishna will be the music director of this film.

ನಾ ನೋಡಿದ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿನಯದ 'ಆರಕ್ಷಕ' ಚಿತ್ರ

ನನ್ನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪನ ಮಗನ ಜೊತೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಲು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಿ ಹೊರಬಂದ ನಂತರ ಅವನು ಅಣ್ಣಾ. ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಲ ಈ ಫಿಲಂಗೆ ಕರ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು ಅಂದ.. ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂತ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ನನಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತಾನೆ.

ಆರಕ್ಷಕ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ವೇಗವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕ ತನ್ನ ಗಮನವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬೇರಡೆ ನೀಡಿದರೂ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಗೊಂದಲವಾಗುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಲೂ ಅಚ್ಚರಿವಾಗುವುದು ಪಿ ವಾಸು ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಶೈಲಿ. ತುಂಬಾ ಕಷ್ಟಕರ ಎನ್ನಬಹುದಾದ ಸ್ಕ್ರಿಪ್ಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಲೀಲಾಜಾಲವಾಗಿ ವಾಸು ಮತ್ತು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ವರ್ಗದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬೇಗನೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಚಿತ್ರ ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಬೋರ್ ಹೊಡೆಸದೇ ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತೆ. ಶರಣ್ ಅವರ ಪಂಚಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಮಿಡಿ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪ್ಲಸ್ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್. ಕಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನಟಿಸುವ ಸದಾ ಅವರ ನಟನೆ ಸೂಪರ್. ರಾಗಿಣಿಯ ಗ್ಲಾಮರಸ್ ಲುಕ್ ನೋಡಿದ್ರೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕ ತುಪ್ಪ ಬೇಕು ತುಪ್ಪ ಅನ್ನದೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ ಪಾಪ.

ಇಂಟರ್ವಲ್ ನಂತರ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ವೇಗ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೆ. ಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೂ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಕೆರಳಿಸುವ ಚಿತ್ರ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗ ಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಕೊನೆಯ ಹದಿನೈದು ನಿಮಿಷವೇ ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಜೀವಾಳ. ತಿರುವು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಸಾಗುವ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕನ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಟನೆಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಹ್ಯಾಟ್ಸಾಫ್. ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಕೈಯಾಡಿಸಿರಬಹುದು.

ಗುರುಕಿರಣ್ ಅವರ ಮೂರು ಹಾಡು ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ನಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದ ನಂತರವೂ ಗುನುಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೆ. ನೆರಳು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಓಟದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಸ್ ಅವರ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರ ಕೈಚಳಕ ಗಮನಿಸ ಬೇಕಾದ ಅಂಶ. ಕಣ್ಣೂರು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಕಿನಾರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಟೆಕ್ನಿಕಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಅದ್ದೊರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಯಾವುದೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಒಪನಿಂಗ್ ಪಡೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದು ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ರಿಮೇಕೋ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ರಿಮೇಕೋ ಎಂದು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಇದು ಶಟ್ಟರ್ ಐಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಎಂದು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು..

ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ ತಮಿಳಿಗ. ವಿಜಯ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ ನನ್ಬನ್ ಚಿತ್ರ 3 ಈಡಿಯೆಟ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ರಿಮೇಕ್ ಅನ್ನೊಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರ. ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಿ ಬಂದ ನನ್ನ ಸಹದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆ ಇದು ರಿಮೇಕ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ಅಲ್ವಾಂತಾ? ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಈತ ನಂತರ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡ. ಅವನ ಭಾಷಾಭಿಮಾನದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾಗದೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಿಗರೇಟ್ ಸೇದಿ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಬಿನ್ ಗೆ ಹೋದೆ

Priyanka Upendra turns Maharashtrian wife!

Mother of two, Priyanka Upendra, Née Trivedi, left the Kannada film industry at the zenith of her career for her family life. After a hiatus, she returned to cinema in 2010 by doing a special song in Yogaraj Bhat's Pancharangi followed by a full-fledged female lead in her hubby's Shrimati. Now, the 34-year-old is ready to don the grease paint again, but this time she is not acting in a Kannada film rather for a big banner Bollywood film.

Well, Priyanka Upendra, who starred before in movies like; Bada Din, Sautela, Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao etc., is all set to re-enter the Bollywood with Enemmy. The excited actress says, “I will be pairing up with Suniel Shetty and I will be playing the role of a Maharashtrian wife in the upcoming Hindi film.” Looking at the ensemble cast, one might think that the movie could be a comedy entertainer. However, she refuses it and claims, “The film has a serious subject and it deals with a hard hitting story about four cops.”

Enemmy also stars KK Menon, Johnny Lever, Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Mahesh Manjrekar. It is directed by Ashuu Trikha.
