ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವನ ಮುಖ್ಯಭೂಮಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿರುವ “ಟೋಪಿವಾಲಾ” ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ 25ಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಮೀಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಯುವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಆರ್. ಜೆ. ಶ್ರೀನಿ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಕನಕಪುರ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆ. ಪಿ. ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಜಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಚಿತ್ರದ ತಯಾರಿಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಈ ಮೊದಲು ಶ್ರೀನಿಯವರ “Kailawsome” ಚಿತ್ರ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರ ಮನವೊಲಿಸಿತ್ತು. ನಂತರ ಶ್ರೀನಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ದಿನವೂ ಬರಲು ಶುರುಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಒಂದು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಎಳೆಯಿತು. ಅದನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಅವನು ಒಪ್ಪಿ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ನಿರ್ದರಿಸಿದ. ಆ ಕಥೆಯ ಎಳೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಸ್ಕ್ರಿಪ್ಟ್‌ನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೀನಿ ಕೂಡ ಹಲವು ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ತಯಾರಾದ ನಂತರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರ ಶೋಧದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಕನಕಪುರ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆ. ಪಿ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್‌ರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆವು ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅವರುಗಳು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸುವರಲ್ಲದೆ, ಚಿತ್ರದ ಖರ್ಚಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಯಿಸಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ ಶುರುವಾಯಿತು ಎಂದರು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ.

ಯುವ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ತಂಡವೊಂದು ಹೊಸ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಖಾತರಿಯಿದೆ ಎಂದರು ಕನಕಪುರ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರ ಜೊತೆ “ಓಂಕಾರ” ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಕಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಬರೆದಿರುವುದು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪ್ಲಸ್ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್ ಎಂದರು ಶ್ರೀನಿ. ನಾನು ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದರು. ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ ಸುಗಮವಾಯಿತು, ಎಂದು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು ಶ್ರೀನಿ.

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಚುಚ್ಚುಮಾತುಗಳು, ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ರೋಚಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರವು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದರು ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ.

ಹರಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರ ಸಂಗೀತಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಹಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಿಜರ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಉಪೇಂದ್ರರನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡ ಒಂದು ಹಾಡಿನ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಕಿಯಿದ್ದು, ಮತ್ತೆಲ್ಲದುದರ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದರು ಶ್ರೀನಿ.

ಟೋಪಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ತಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರು. ತಲೆ ಇದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಟೋಪಿ ಹಾಕುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ತಾವು ಟೋಪಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಟೋಪಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಟೋಪಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ? ಹೀಗೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಹಾಕಿ ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಕಥೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರವೇ 'ಟೋಪಿವಾಲ'!

ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಬರೆದ ಕಥೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಯೆಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಗ್ಯಾರಂಟಿ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ 'ತಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ' ಎಂಬ ಟ್ಯಾಗ್‌ಲೈನ್ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಲು ಹೋಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ ಅಡಿಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಬರೆದು, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿರುವುದು ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಜಾಕಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿಗೆ 'ಜಾಕಿ' ಭಾವನಾ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡತಿ ಮೈತ್ರೇಯಿ ಎಂಬ ಇಬ್ಬರು ನಾಯಕಿಯರು.

ಗುಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಡದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಂಬರ್ ವನ್. ಆದರೂ ಕಥೆಯೇನು ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ತೂರಿ ಬಂದವು. ಆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಜಾಣತನದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನುಣುಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಎರಡನೇ ನಾಯಕಿ ಮೈತ್ರೇಯಿ ಕೆಲವು ಸುಳಿವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ತಾನು ಮತ್ತು ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಜುವೆಲ್ಲರಿ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನ ಹಾಕುತ್ತೇವೆ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಅವರಿಂದ ಹೊರ ಬಿತ್ತು. ಉಪ್ಪಿಯಂತಹ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಜತೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವುದೇ ಗ್ರೇಟ್. ನಟನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಅವರಿಂದ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಪಾಠ ಕಲಿತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಕಥೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಬೆನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬೇತಾಳದಂತಿದ್ದರು. ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನುಳಿದಿರುವುದು ಒಂದು ಹಾಡು ಮಾತ್ರ. ಅಷ್ಟಾದರೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯದ್ದೇ ಜಪ ಎಂದರು ರಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ.

ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು. ಏಳೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ 'ಓಂಕಾರ' ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕನಕಪುರ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು 'ಶಿವ' ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಕೆ.ಪಿ. ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್. ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಉಪ್ಪಿಯನ್ನು ಅಪಾದಮಸ್ತಕ ಹೊಗಳಿದರು. ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಭರವಸೆಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನಂತರ ನನಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿಯೇ ಫೇವರಿಟ್ ಎಂದರು ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್.

ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವಿ. ಹರಿಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸಂಗೀತ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶ್ರೀಶ ಕೂದವಳ್ಳಿ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾ ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಂಗಾಯಣ ರಘು, ರಾಜು ತಾಳಿಕೋಟೆ, ರಾಕ್‌ಲೈನ್ ಸುಧಾಕರ್, ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಮೋಹನ್ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಕೂಡ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈಗಿನ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಚಿತ್ರ ಜನವರಿ 25ಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ.

Upendra and Bhavana starrer "Topiwala' directed by youngster R.J.Sreeni and produced by Kanakapura Sreenivas and K.P.Srikanth has completed its shoot and now the post production work is on. Addressing the first press meet of the film which was attended by the film's lead actor Upendra, the film's producer K.P.Srikanth assured that Topiwala will be a film that the Sandalwood may be proud off. "I am sure it would stand competition to many Bollywood films in the way it has been conceived and projected.
Kanakapura Sreenivas said that a younger team has worked for the film which has ensured fresh thoughts in presentation. I had earlier produced Upendra's film "Onkaara' which earuned over Rs. 1 crore of share in the first week in BKT area alone' remembered Srinivas.
R.J. Srini said that the story and screenplay has been done by Upendra which is a major strength of the film. "I have directed the film and written dialogues for the film. My work became much easier because of the powerful script written by Upendra sir' said Srini.
Upendra said that earlier he had watched Srini's film "Kailawsome' which had really appealed him. Then he had promised Srini that he would do one film if proper script is given. Later they started coming to me regularly. Then I had a story line which I discussed with Srini. The young director was more than willing to base his first film on the story. Then I started working on the script for which even Srini gave some suggestions. Later when we thought of getting a good producer for the film we zeroed on Kanakapura sreenivas and K.P.Srikanth who make films of quality and huge spend. That is how the film had started' said Upendra said.
'The film's story is based on contemporary incidents in our life. Politics is even part of the events that we would showcase in the film. In a way the film will be a package of incidents that could be connected to our lives. The film has sarcasm, comedy and a little bit of thrills also' said Upendra.
Srini said that one song and a few sequences of the film have been shot in Switzerland for the film. One song has to be yet picturised on Upendra. Hari Krishna is the music director.

Top Five Directors of Sandalwood: Upendra's The Best

Four blockbusters, two hits and two flops, yet he remains number one director of Sandalwood. Yes, we are talking about Real Star Upendra, who has been chosen as the number one director in Kannada film industry by our readers.

Oneindia conducted a poll asking our readers to choose top directors of Sandalwood, and they have chosen Uppi as the best among the lot. The most interesting part is that Upendra has won the race with a huge margin.

Upendra has garnered 73.22% of the votes in the poll and his close competitor is Yogaraj Bhat, who has got 12.53% votes. Guruprasad of Mata fame is in the third position by getting 7.56% voting sharing followed by Suri (3.46%) and Prem (3.24%).

 Uppi made his directorial debut in Tarle Nan Maga. Shh, Om, A, Upendra and Super are his biggest hits. Whereas Operation Antha and Swasthik are the film films, which failed to meet audience expectations.

 Yogaraj Bhat started his career with critically acclaimed Mani but it was Mungaaru Male that made him a star director overnight. His recent movie Anna Bond was a commercial hit and his next film Kaddi Pudi starring Shivaraj Kumar has already started making news.

 Prem, one of the most brilliant director in publicising films, made his debut in Kariya, a gangster film. This movie earned good name for both the director and lead star Darshan. His next Excuse Me was one of the biggest hits of 2004. However, it was Shivaraj Kumar starrer Jogi that made him a household name in Karnataka. However, his next few films like Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melide (his debut film as an actor), Raaj - The Showman and Jogayya failed to meet the audience expectations. 'Rajani Kantha' audio event

'Rajani Kantha' audio event was held at Gurubhavan Playground in Turuvekere 135 kilometers away from Bangalore.
