Shooting pics of TOPIWALA in Switzerland

Upendra's forthcoming movie Topiwala unit has been to Switzerland to shoot some songs and talkie portions. After completing the filming, the team has returned recently to Bangalore.
A few songs were shot in the beautiful locales of Swiss. Pradeep Anthony choreographed the songs for which V Harikrishna has composed the tunes and Shreesha Kuduvalli captured in his camera. According to the production house, the shooting went well without any hurdle and the picturisation has been excellent.
The shooting of Topiwala has almost been completed and the film is getting ready for the release in 2013. While Upendra himself has penned the story and screenplay of the film, MG Srinivas has helmed the project. It is produced by Kanakapura Srinivas and KP Srinivas under the banner of RS Productions.

Non Kannada Directors Face Debacle with Upendra

Off late almost all the non Kannada directors faced the debacle with a superstar like Upendra is a pathetic state of affairs. In the last one year director P Vasu, Sriram, Ramnarayan and Suresh Krishna are the directors not able to give a stupendous success with a super star Upendra in the lead.

The debacle No.1 is P Vasu who directed ‘Arakshaka’ for producer of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ Krishna Prajwal. With the two super hits to his credits – Aptha Mithra and Aptha Rakshaka – P Vasu in the combination of Upendra as pinch hitter gave a miserable flop. At one stage Upendra speaking to media told that he alerted P Vasu on such a risk.

The second debacle came from Suresh Krissna who directed top stars in South India. He had two films in the pas tin Kannada starring Dr Vishnuvardhana – Kadamba and Jyeshta. For ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi ’ ran for 50 days and returned the investment according to producer Munirathna Naidu but it is not hit film starring Upendra. It raked up more controversy. Suresh Krissna could not give a pinch hitter with Upendra, Ramya, Ambarish in quasi mythological film.

The third debacle comes from cameraman turned director from ‘God Father’ – Sriram. A remake of ‘Varalaru’ Tamil film ‘God Father’ with the big name of two times Oscar award winner AR Rahman doing the music for this triple role of Upendra failed to click in the box office but producer K Manju made profits by selling the film in advance to Narasimha Arts Naga Prasad.

Now the fourth and latest is Ramnarayan – director and producer of ‘Kalpana’ a remake of ‘Kanchana’ Tamil film, at the 25th day is failing to give a major boost to the producer. However the investment for 125th film of Ramnarayan ‘Kalpana’ there is no problem. It is not a big hit. With Upendra, Shruthi, Umasri, Saikumar starred in this ghost effect cinema.

Upendra with one hit prior to four ‘Super’ was directed by himself. Whenever others try to direct him – most of the films have bombed.

Now all eyes are on Srini who is directing Upendra in ‘Topiwala’ – this has the screenplay and dialogues from Upendra. RS Productions Kanakapura Srinivas and KP Srikanth are producers of this film.

Upendra comes back from Switzerland

Two of the Kannada films recently shot in Switzerland. One is Darshan starring ‘BUL BUL’ and the other one is Upendra starring ‘Topiwala’ for RS Productions.

It was a long 20 days tour to ‘Bul Bul’ but for ‘Topiwala’ it is just one and a few talkie portions. Upendra and Bhavana took part in the song in the steps directed by Pradip Antony.

RJ turned theatre walla Srini is the director and dialogue writer for ‘Topiwala’ that has story and screenplay from Upendra. Srisha is cameraman and V Harikrishna is music composer. Sri of crazy minds is editor, Ravi Verma, Thriller Manju are stunt operators. Mohan B Kere is art director.

Rangayana Raghu, Ravishanker, Maithreyi, Rockline Sudhakar, Raju Thalikote, Biradar and others are in the cast.

'TOPIWALA' Goes Abroad

The debut film of Srini a radio jockey who directed a short film on TP Kailasam based on 'Typical Arathi' - 'Topiwala' with super star Upendra writing story and screenplay besides appearing in the lead role leaves for Switzerland for one song and some talkie portions.

The prestigious banner RS Productions producer R Srinivas and KP Srikanth 'Topiwala' is completing the dance portion of the song in Switzerland in Pradip Anthony choreography.

Srisha is the cameraman and V Harkrishna has scored the music. Sri editing, Ravi Verma, Thriller Manju stunts, Mohan B Kere art direction are part of the technical team.

Upendra is paired with Bhavana (Jackie, Vishnuvardhana, Romeo heroine). Rangayana Raghu, Ravishanker, Maithreya, Rockline Sudhakar, Raju Thalikote, Biradar are in the supporting cast.

'Kalpana' Budget is Safe

Producer and director of 125 films in South India Ramnarayan is at the comfort zone for his investment from the last 10 days report in the box office for the film ‘Kalpana’ starring super star Upendra, Saikumar, Lakshmi Rai, Shruthi, Umasri and others.

‘Kalapana’ remake of ‘Kanchana’ of Lawerence has made a collection of Rs.3 crores and the television rights for this film has come around Rs.1.75 crores. Both the earnings put together it is the safety for the producer budget.

Meanwhile the ‘Kalpana’ collection has picked up from the second week because of the female audience thronging theatres all over Karnataka is sure to give profits for producer Ramnarayan.

Upendra's Kalpana rocks at Box Office

Upendra's Kalpana has got a flying start at the Box Office. The movie, which was released on September 28, has raked in around Rs 2.50 crore in the first weekend.

Trade reports say that Kalpana has got an average of 65-70% occupancy in the opening weekend. It is said that the movie has collected around Rs 2.50 crore (nett) and the Mysore region is in the top of the collection list. The film has been getting good response from both single screens and multiplex audience.

On the release day, Kalpana was overwhelmingly welcomed by single screen audience and it received decent response from multiplex viewers. In the next two days, it got wonderful response from both mass and class audience.

However, Kalpana, which is a remake of Telugu movie Kanchana (Muni in Tamil), stars Upendra, Sai Kumar and Lakshmi Rai in the leads. It is produced and directed by Rama Narayanan.
