Aarakshaka Music Review

Aarakshaka album excites the audience for many reasons and one among them is, the coming together of successful jodi – Upendra and Guru Kiran. The duo, who delivered chartbusters like A and Upendra, is joining hands for the movie directed by P Vasu. Expectation automatically soars high when Vasu-Guru Kiran combo, which gave us hits like Aapthamitra and Aaptarakshaka, team up. Let's see whether they have lived up to their standards set by themselves.

Song: Thu Nan Makla
Singer(s): Kailash Kher
Lyrics: Upendra
'Thu nan makla...' has been doing waves from the day it was revealed that Uppi has written a mocking track on politics. Upendra has continued to criticise the people's easy-going attitude on corruption. Kailash Kher croons at his best in the fast track, which sticks on your lips after first few hearings.

Song: Rathri Ella
Singer(s): Guru Kiran and Akanksha Badami
Lyrics: Hamsalekha
Hamsalekha, who is known for playing with rhyming words, has penned the lyrics. The romantic song is short and sweet. Guru Kiran and Akanksha Badami have crooned the song with ease. The tune and voice mix well, which makes the track interesting.

Song: I Am Barbie
Singer: Chaithra
Lyrics: Kaviraj
Kaviraj has written a Kanglish (Kannada+English) song, which is sung by Chaithra in a western style. The soundtrack talks about a girl's way of living. Neither it has an impressive line nor it has catchy tune. It can be declared as an average track in the album.

Song: Kalli Kalli Kanna
Singer(s): Srinivas and Shruti Tumkur
Lyrics: Upendra
Here comes the pick of the album. The title track of Aarakshaka has good lines as well as a wonderful tune. Guru Kiran has beautifully blended the lines with Srinivas' voice. Shruti Tumkur has played her part well to make it a quality affair.

Song: Kuch Kuch
Singer(s): Vijay Yesudas and Chitra
Lyrics : Kaviraj
Vijay Yesudas and Chitra have come behind the mike for the melody track. Their voice gives a good feel to the listeners. The soundtrack has 1990s style of music and it is well-tuned.

Verdict:
Aarakshaka album is worth buying. 'Thu nan makla...', 'Kalli kalli kanna...' and 'Kuch kuch...' are the best songs.
